Stephen Jones wants to see Dez Bryant in better shape

Dez is always spent by the fourth quarter.

He spends so much energy jaw-jacking with the other team and stomping up and down the bench between series, he's exhausted in the end.

It doesn't help that he's not the crispest of route runners either. Without a full tank, he's a rather easy cover late in games.

Dez as far as working out was in shape.

You can't get into football shape without playing football.

And that's where the contract impasse was damaging.

This is all Stephen acknowledged. All this after the fact talk of Dez coming into camp out of shape is the exact opposite of what we actually heard when he arrived with the team. Everyone said he looked great.

Lots of guys lift, eat right, neglect cardio and still have a greek god body. Look at all the body builders. Doubt any of them could run a back to back post corner route without huffing and puffing.

Maybe they aren't the annoying ones. Dez is almost always Romo's go to. If he ain't throwing to Dez, likely Dez isn't open. Maybe he is doubled, maybe he stumbled, maybe he took a play off. Dez is a good player, but he is not the most mature guy on the team.

I would like to see Dez match up against him (fully healthy). Should be a battle. It still depends on how much pressure Washington can generate. If they have a hard time getting to Romo, I give the edge to Bryant.
