Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones on @1053thefan

on Jerry Jones saying Dallas would be "all in" this season: "Everybody has their own definition of what that means, but I've never not known us to be all in, nor have I known anyone we compete against not to be all in." What does he say to fans that don't believe the Cowboys have been "all in" this offseason? "We spend max, max money year in and year out. All 32 can only spend the same amount of money over a five-year stretch. When we're all said and done, we max out our salary cap every year. We will have done that. What comes with having a good roster, which we do, we're also looking towards signing our own guys. "It doesn't mean it happens overnight. But when you're wanting to sign players like Dak (Prescott) and Micah (Parsons) and CeeDee (Lamb), then you have to hold money back if you want to have a realistic chance of signing those guys."

He didnt start to cry did he ?

Not sick enough to stop them from making a billion dollars off of merchandise.
I am proud to say I have never spent a dime on any cowboys merchandise since Jethro has owned the boys
never bought a ticket and the one time I visited the space ship it was part of a free tour.
Never a ticket
NOTHING

Why would he be? The only concern the family has is the bottom line.
Most human beings, especially men, are extremely competitive. It's in our nature especially if we ever played.

He played.

The entitlement is strong with this one.

Sportrac did a study a few years ago of the teams who spent the most over 5 years, through 2021 I think. It appears the list is behind a paywall now.

The Eagles spent the most, the Pats spent the least. The Eagles spent almost $150 million more than the Pats did. LOL at Stephen that all teams spend the same. Spending doesn't equal winning, and some of the best teams weren't high on the list, but Stephen is lying through his teeth claiming that he can only spend so much. He's only limited by the next private jet or island he and Jerry want to buy.

I heard the interview and he got perturbed from the host asking tough questions. The only positive thing I heard was that DQ made Mazi do something totally different than college, and that Zimm wants him to do what he did in college.

Outside of that nada. I would rather listen to Jerry daily than hear from Stephen again. He’s arrogant as hell!

He's talking cap room aka salary plus dead money for constant bad decisions. He is not talking cash-spending.

Maybe the guy who runs the salary cap should have more qualified help than himself and the restaurant shift leader.
He’s talking cap room because it covers up the fact they are cheap. He expects the fanbase to be drooling idiots that won’t look this stuff up and realize he and his dad are lying.

if they truly wanted to win, they’d give up control of operations on the football side. No other team in the league operates in this manner while continuing to fail. But they own the team so that will never happen. Maybe someone in the family will finally come to their senses in year 2055.

It's time the media start calling them out for their BS.

They have the perfect set up. They draft just well enough to win enough games to tantalize fans with this idea/notion that they are close but in reality the two Jones boys are siphoning off hundreds of millions of dollars that they could have put into the team to make it a real contender.

There are just enough homers around here buying that slop that they think they can continue doing what they are doing.

I am close to reaching my breaking point with this franchise. Oh I'll root for them. I'll hope they win. I'll tune into big games.......... but honestly, I can do a lot more quality things on Sundays like play some golf, sports with my kids, to invest 4 hours in a product that I know where the owners really don't give two craps about in terms of success.

"Build through the draft" is code for "invest as few dollars as feasibly possible" into the roster. This offseason is a supercharged version of that mantra. They'll draft who the draft, filling some holes with cheap players. And then the remaining holes will be filled with bargain bin garbage. That's been the strategy for years but honestly, this offseason makes me think inflation is hitting the Jones hard that they have to siphon off even more cash from the Cowboys.

Two days ago I had my Jeep Patriot detailed by some pros and I told them to take the Dallas Cowboys license plate covers off my license plates and throw them in the garbage. I am not going to ride dirty anymore promoting the Cowboys. I also had Cowboy floor mats that I told them to toss those as well.

If the Jones family don't care about us fans, then I don't care either and will stop promoting them.
