It's time the media start calling them out for their BS.

They have the perfect set up. They draft just well enough to win enough games to tantalize fans with this idea/notion that they are close but in reality the two Jones boys are siphoning off hundreds of millions of dollars that they could have put into the team to make it a real contender.

There are just enough homers around here buying that slop that they think they can continue doing what they are doing.

I am close to reaching my breaking point with this franchise. Oh I'll root for them. I'll hope they win. I'll tune into big games.......... but honestly, I can do a lot more quality things on Sundays like play some golf, sports with my kids, to invest 4 hours in a product that I know where the owners really don't give two craps about in terms of success.

"Build through the draft" is code for "invest as few dollars as feasibly possible" into the roster. This offseason is a supercharged version of that mantra. They'll draft who the draft, filling some holes with cheap players. And then the remaining holes will be filled with bargain bin garbage. That's been the strategy for years but honestly, this offseason makes me think inflation is hitting the Jones hard that they have to siphon off even more cash from the Cowboys.
And then they'll be projected to be in the playoffs hunt and Vegas will have them in the top 5-6 SB teams pre-season. Boy have I been a dummy the last few years for believing they had a shot!

Two days ago I had my Jeep Patriot detailed by some pros and I told them to take the Dallas Cowboys license plate covers off my license plates and throw them in the garbage. I am not going to ride dirty anymore promoting the Cowboys. I also had Cowboy floor mats that I told them to toss those as well.
I would have taken the license plates and stuck them in a urinal somewhere so fellow fans can show their appreciation.

Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones on @1053thefan

on Jerry Jones saying Dallas would be "all in" this season: "Everybody has their own definition of what that means, but I've never not known us to be all in, nor have I known anyone we compete against not to be all in." What does he say to fans that don't believe the Cowboys have been "all in" this offseason? "We spend max, max money year in and year out. All 32 can only spend the same amount of money over a five-year stretch. When we're all said and done, we max out our salary cap every year. We will have done that. What comes with having a good roster, which we do, we're also looking towards signing our own guys. "It doesn't mean it happens overnight. But when you're wanting to sign players like Dak (Prescott) and Micah (Parsons) and CeeDee (Lamb), then you have to hold money back if you want to have a realistic chance of signing those guys."

Maybe I’m old school or old fashioned. Or maybe I’m just off in general, but it really rubs me the wrong way when you publicly mention guys by name as the reason you have to hold back. That bothers me. Just keep that in house. Just amateur in general imo

right now, winning even 8 games seems like a giant leap of faith, honestly. Many fans feel dejected.

He thinks we are all fools.

And he's probably right. We are.
I don’t think so.

This year I don’t see many if any positive fans. They are losing the fan base slowly but surely.

Most of us will still tune in and cheer for their team. But the optimism and excitement is being sucked out of this fan bases sails.

Double talk. This just comes across as Stephen backpedaling on Jerry's behalf.

Jerry's "All In" comment suggested aggressively doing something different or more than the past to get over the hump they have been struggling to get over. It certainly wasn't a comment that indicated business as usual.

(Prescott) and Micah (Parsons) and CeeDee (Lamb)

Yeah, they have to sign these "three" players, that will make sure they win a SB, as long as those greedy bastids get the bag.

SB, here we come!
Greedy *******s?

Dak already counts $30M in dead money alone. That is near 15% of the cap in dead money alone for one person.

I can understand if you are a Dak fan and want them to pay Dak hat he is asking but elsewise all I see are people blithely refusing to look at what is pretty simple accounting on otc and spotrac team pages and indulging their biases.

It's difficult to believe that management would deliberately spend less than the cap allows over time. Any potential savings would be a rounding error relative to the value of the franchise.

The problem is how they spend it. Bad signings, bad contracts, and very bad restructurings. Dead money is poison.

He did more than that. He flat out lied.

They do not spend the same as other teams. That's simply a lie but he's using limited cap space each year as his proof but any smart fan knows cap space isn't the same as actual cash spent over a period. He just expects us all to be blabbering fools that will lap up his lies.

Cap numbers are just the manipulation of actual cash spent on players. You can move cash spent around in a variety of ways to work the cap. Cash spent is the real investment in the franchise.

Cowboys generally are near the bottom when it comes to actual cash spent on the team. So Junior is lying when he argues they spend as much as the next guy. They do not. He's trying to hide behind their manipulation of the cap as proof they invest as much as the next guy but that's simply not true. Blogging the Boys had a long article on this just last month.

So explain how you can accounting trick dead money into nonexistence.

I won't hold my breath.
