Stephen wants to be like Belichick and always be decent that way you're always relevant

It's 2 in 11 years. Counting it out on your fingers helped me confirm it :).

Close enough.

Not close enough when throwing around insults about other people being bad at math, just so you can defend your Pats

The Patriots have also handled the top teams in their conference too. It can be argued that the AFC is now the weaker conference, but that is more of a recent take.

They have. But it still rings true that when your in a weaker conference its just easier to get more wins which leads to home field advantage in the playoffs.

All the Patriots web sites have been hacked and shut down. Someone call Homeland Security. This affront to New England fans everywhere must be corrected. And soon. Like 44 days ago soon.

Being a fan through bad times is what makes the good times so enjoyable. Any fan that jumps ship will not be missed and frankly must not have been a true fan anyways, he just shouldn't come crawling back when it gets good again.

From what I've seen of it, I respect Stephen Jones' philosophy. Operating in a way that allows a franchise to stay at, or close to, the forefront over time is the best way to go as far as I'm concerned. The Cowboys teams of old were well respected for maintaining quality teams throughout their existence. Speaking for myself, I'm extremely elated to see someone in the current Dallas organization who much prefers to operate with that goal in mind.

I think you're right. And I think it's pretty obvious now, that's the direction we're going in.

So we're going to add defenders and supplement a rotation early this year. We'll add a quality back after that. And we'll draft and develop a QB to be ready when Romo's done instead of loading everything up for a run now. We'll take chances on guys with these two year contracts and draft beneath them to develop the talent to replace them when they're gone. Use the lure of the Dallas spotlight and new culture to attract them, and remain good at finding talent from the UDFA ranks. Sign core players and let everybody else get replaced.
It's the right way to do it. Too many variables to load up for any one year. Better to build a quality organization and be there to take advantage of the opportunities like the Pats and Giants and Ravens have.

Why do people keep saying that we need to develope a qb? No one does this. If Brady, Rodgers, Brees, Romo, Big Ben, Manning, or any other top notch qb goes down for the year their team is sunk. Its just the way it is, when was the last time a qb was "developed" into a top flight qb? I would say Romo but signing UDFAs and hoping they develope into an elite qb would be the outlier. You ever notice that the good to great qbs never make it to free agency? These teams will struggle until they draft their next elite qb, these qbs cover up alot of deficiencies in other areas of the team.

With all the accolades that Bellichek receives, he'd be nothing without Brady.

My response is this site is being over taken by Eagles fans crossdressing in Cows jerseys
Interesting. By your own admission, you are a New England Patriots fan. You are a New England Patriots fan concluding there is a majority of Philadelphia Eagles fans logging onto a Dallas Cowboys fan site. How many fans of (you can pick the team) non-Patriots fans are there on any given Patriots fan site? Or do you even know? I ask only because it would be extremely difficult for a Patriots fan, like yourself, having time to make the necessary observations of any Patriots fan site, with you constantly lurking and posting on this site, which is DEFINITELY not a Patriots fan site.

www.patriots.com

There you go. Have fun counting! :)

The Pats continually draft and develop QBs. They went 11-5 with Matt Cassell and traded him for a first rounder. The Packers also do the same thing.

Cassel is about the only example of someone really getting a return on that investment. Look at what the pats have spent overall on their QBs versus what they got for them. Packers as well. One out of 5 or so means diddly squat.

Lol that helps but..... They still have the best QB in the NFL by far. Nobody even sniffing him.

I really do not doubt no matter what team you put in their division, minus maybe the Hawks, they would still dominate.

I don't think they would dominate if they were swapped out for Cleveland and had to play Baltimore and Pittsburgh twice a year.

Romo was a better QB than Brady basically all of last season. It's more than just the QB, the entire roster has to deliver.

I love romo and think he's very good, but you can't compare him to Brady. I don't think you can compare anyone to him, today. So its not a knock against romo

Matt Cassell is the exact proof that it is the Patriots system that makes the Qb's look good. As soon as Cassell left, he sucked at the chiefs, sucked at the vikings, and now is on his 4th team. So if the Patriots developed him, then they failed horribly, because Cassel sucks.

Why can you not compare him? because of his 3 superbowls from 11 years ago? Because he won one last year? He was not the best qb last year, Romo and Rodgers both outplayed him last year, hell Rodgers even beat him head to head. Just because he has the SB's does not mean he can't be compared to anyone else.

Tom Brady would be just another Super Bowl losing quarterback if not for my teammates and me,
but do we get any love from Brady fans? Any love AT all? nooo...

The Patriots get away with this because of Tom Brady. Without him, they would be much more like the 49ers with Alex Smith, good enough to keep you in games with a talented roster but no elite QB to put you over the hump.

Brady and an O Line that protects him for the most part very well, coupled with a quick hotter passing game
