Forget the running game? I doubt that.
Now panic and abandon if it does not work out very well? Absolutely, especially with unreliable RBs we have on the roster.
lol

Off the top of your head, name one Seattle wide receiver. I can't think of one either. We have Dez & Witten, well known. Yet, he still won, or made it to the Super Bowl.Up here, everyone talks about how Russell Wilson walks on water, despite the fact the fact that he's had the #1 ranked defense for two years now, and one of the top running games in the NFL. But then they talk about Romo, and say just what you said - that the only reason he "didn't choke" this year was because of Murray, and now we're back to being screwed without him. They didn't notice that pretty much every time we needed a big play in the second half of the season, it was a pass. They forget about Murray's fumbling issues, especially the one in the GB game. They fail to take into consideration that our defense should be much improved this year. And they forget that we took the best running OL in football and made it better.
Nope, we're back to being screwed.
Solid defense? We had the number 2 rushing attack, and a top offense with a solid defense. Yet...
Solid defense?
When you deal with Romo, all stats have to be thrown out the window. He will be measured by the stupidity in games like the ones that always sends us home at the end of the season. Those games are what makes or breaks you. And plain and simple, he's a numb-skull in games like that. He continuously makes rookie mistakes. And I don't care how good you are, if you can't get it together in those do or die games, then you're a generic Danny White.
The worst defensive teams I have seen win a Super Bowl are the 2006 Colts and a couple of the Raider teams in the 1980s. It is hardly common place.I've seen teams with terrible defenses make it to the Super Bowl. How do we explain that?
I'm one that actually likes Wilson a lot.Off the top of your head, name one Seattle wide receiver. I can't think of one either. We have Dez & Witten, well known. Yet, he still won, or made it to the Super Bowl.

That is a lie.
I never mentioned that he was less effective than the league's elite QB's in this thread.
YOU are putting those words in my mouth to try to create a point.
I have stated that I don't care about the other QB's because it doesn't matter since we are talking about Romo and trying to play to Romo's strengths.
And even if we want to use your argument, it is still patently false.
Romo has had the 3 worst seasons of any of the QB's you mentioned when it comes to throwing 31+ passes. So he HAS been less effective than those QB's.
It would be like saying that if I had a QB that had a 120 QB rating before 30 attempts and was at 100 QB rating at 31+ attempts, that QB is 'less effective' than the QB that starts with a 100 QB rating prior to 31 attempts and then is at 85 QB rating after 31 attempts because the 2nd QB had a smaller drop-off rate.
And you never mentioned Rodgers, widely considered arguably the top QB in the league that has a *higher* QB rating once he gets to 31+ attempts. And not using Romo's 2010 season is another example of cherry picking. I could see if he got injured and came back and was fighting injuries. But, he was perfectly healthy until the Giants game and when he threw the ball more that season, his QB rating plummeted.
But again...I don't care about other QB's since that doesn't have to do with Romo. It's just your entire argument is invalid.
YR
He's also been more effective than they have, depending on which season you look at. Instead of focusing on any one player's best or worst seasons, you can simply pick a time frame and then compare all the seasons. If we had an easy way to look at each QB's last 80 games, we would. The best we can do (other than going back and looking at each individual game) is look at their last five full seasons. Not four for some QB, and five for others, and 4 and1/3 for Romo -- but all five full seasons for all five QB.Romo has had the 3 worst seasons of any of the QB's you mentioned when it comes to throwing 31+ passes. So he HAS been less effective than those QB's.
Please differentiate the games in which romo threw 30+ times while maintaining a lead as opposed to coming from behind.

Okay, that actually made me laugh out loud. Well doneThat's an easy one: you see lots of things that aren't really happening when you watch football, apparently.

Super Bowl XLVl - Giants over the Patriots in 2011 - Giants with the 27th ranked defense, won the Super Bowl. Giants rushing defense was LAST, I repeat, LAST in the league. The Patriots, who the Giants were playing in the Super Bowl, had the 31ST, I repeat, 31st defense in the league. For those not following, that's next to last in defense. Yet they were 4 points away from winning the Super bowl. Oh yeah, they had the 20th best rushing offense.I'm one that actually likes Wilson a lot.
However...
Seattle had THE top running game and THE top defense....by a very large margin
These are not at all comparable.
QBs like Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson have won Super Bowls given that situation.

So my calculations say, THERE ARE NO EXCUSES WHY WE CAN'T MAKE IT TO THE SUPER BOWL. So please stop it, homers.
You must be drinking already! You just dogged the hell out of Romo and now you are saying the team can make it to the SB? Judas strikes again.
Last thing and I'll move along. People keep saying Brad Johnson & Trent Dilfer won Super Bowls and my response is, I don't care. I don't care if Weeden wins us the next Super Bowl, I just want one.
I said, there are no excuses why we can't. Yet we can't. Reason = Romo
