Stupid to lose Land

No excuse for this other than incompetence by the FO. I understand he likely would be inactive in game days THIS year. Look ahead a year. Armstrong a free agent, Fowler a free agent, hopefully Sam isn’t suspended or something and who knows how much longer Lawrence is going to play. Such a bad decision.
Probably Better to wait and see if Land actually becomes a good player before declaring this.

There is no telling how a player we cut will turn out to be. I think it’s fine for a fan to be disappointed that a player that they believe has promise got claimed by another team.

While a vast majority of claimed players don’t turn out to be much, others turn out to be a Danny Amendola with a long career in the league. None of us can say definitively that a player “won’t amount to anything”.

I don’t have a dog in this fight, but based on everything that has been said by the talking heads and people on this board indicates that Leupke and Land were the two guys that least needed to get poached on waivers.

I was pleased to hear that we kept Leupke over Davis. I would have kept him even over Dowdle who I don’t see as special either.

Davis obviously wasn’t claimed. I doubt that Dowdle would have been claimed either, but I guess the Cowboys didn’t want to enter game one with only Pollard as tye only experienced back on the roster.

I don’t know that much about Land, but I would have probably kept him over Dowdle and gone with Pollard, Deuce and Leupke only.

You’re just too dense to understand my stance. Which is no surprise at all.
Actually I haven't seen anyone agree with you on this topic.

So to recap, you are right and EVERYBODY else is wrong.

Got it.

He had started a thread alluding to him doing a 180 on the Lance signing, then here he made a statement that seems to be back on the other side of the fence. I really don't know what his stance is, but I'm not questioning it, just clarifying to you.(As much as I can clarify, anyway.)

Yes he is. Below if from today.

Hah this has to be first day back. Listen I won’t argue with you. Don’t feel too strongly. I would have cut Gallimore. I think you need as many pass rushers as possible and I think the guy was a cheap, high motor guy.

Whatever he is gone.

It would be easier to clarify butter that clarify that guys statements, lol

But speaking to this topic, I would like to know if letting Land go was a Quinn decision or a Jerry decision?

If it’s a Quinn decision I can understand it and respect it.

This Land uproar is so overblown. The odds of this guy ever playing a snap for the Cowboys were pretty slim. In an ideal world we were able to get him onto our PS and I was definitely hoping for that, but I have zero issue with not putting him on the 53.

They do find consistent gems....they also make blunders like this finessing the roster.

They thought they were smart and lost Ridgeway last year.

Ridgeway had a nice role in a stacked Washington dt room.
no he didn't lol. he was a backup and played limited snaps all year. no one is losing sleep over ridgeway

I think it would be easier to split atoms in my garage than clarify his statements.

Did he play much? You said he didn’t show up…does that mean you hardly threw the ball to him? He never got separation? Or He just didn’t get on the field very much? Thanks….
No he didn’t play much beyond the first couple of games last year.

He was, IMO, just a guy who was where the QB expected him to be, so he got a lot of passes thrown his way in camp (2022). He lacks any kind of special traits other than diligent and did what he was supposed to do.

Dallas was short handed at WR last season and he didn’t see much action. The camp had some fans excitement up about him, and then the regular season started.

This year, he did less in camp and had some other UDFA’s outplaying him, so it was pretty evident that he was getting cut.

He’s a good guy and works at his craft but he’s just not talented. He is a fine 5th or 6th WR who will give you an honest day’s work. Expecting much of anything from him would probably be a mistake. Y’all might just want to pick his brain before opening weekend. Dallas is running a different offense than last season, so maybe he could tell Martindale something worthwhile… although the main game planning starts now.

He’s a good team mate and reliable are about the best that can be said about him.
