There are 3 QBs on the 53 which likely would've only been 2 if they don't make the Lance trade.
It would have been Dak, Rush and Grier…….just like last season and the season before. I repeat, Lance did not take a roster spot from anyone but Grier. I’ll repeat it again for those in the back, it was just a mere QB swap, no player was effected outside of Grier.

This is not hard to understand……..

He was on the practice squad, not the 53. That's not too hard to understand either. There's a difference.

Grier was not on the PS last season, only at the beginning until some moves were made.

Exactly. Land was not a name I heard being mentioned at all during camp. He ran past a few scrub tackles this preseason and people think he's Parsons 2.0.
Maybe a safer bet then a guy that was ranked lower than Sam Freakin Donald on his team. Who knows.

Land was not in any way ready to play in real games this season. Dallas is absolutely loaded at edge/DE, they could not keep Land.

They liked him and wanted him on their practice squad but a terrible team with a bad roster decided they’d carry him on their 53. It happens to all teams… particularly the talented teams like Dallas. The league can see the Dallas roster and their success with the draft and UDFA. They know to take a look at who they cut… particularly at a position like edge where Dallas is loaded.

Every team has these kinds of things happen.

Had Land been ready to play this season… well if he had been, he would’ve been drafted… but had he, Dallas might have moved a guy like Armstrong and kept land. But they couldn’t because they’re ready to win mow and Armstrong helps them and Land wouldn’t.

That's the point, we would probably never know here anyway. Parsons, D-Law, Williams, Armstrong, and Fowler all ahead of Land on the depth chart while Golston and Fehoku can play on the edge too.

If Dallas kept Land on the 53 he would just be inactive every week. And if he made it to the practice squad that's where he would have stayed. Every year there is a Land in the preseason and 99 times out of 100 we never hear from these guys again. On any team.

Not saying Land will flop in Indy. Just saying it's not like the Cowboys just got rid of a missing piece. Kid's an undrafted rookie that got a sack and a handful of pressures in three preseason games and there's regret. I don't get it.

I do want to apologize BigD, my reply did come across a little aggressive, not my intent at all. It just seemed like the right post to jump in about this 3rd QB stuff.

Apologies again

No excuse for this other than incompetence by the FO. I understand he likely would be inactive in game days THIS year. Look ahead a year. Armstrong a free agent, Fowler a free agent, hopefully Sam isn’t suspended or something and who knows how much longer Lawrence is going to play. Such a bad decision.
What's done is done.
He's a project. There will be other future players and opportunities down the road.
We've found one Isiah Land project, there will be more.

No problem.. all in good fun! Same here, don't mean to be confrontational.

I don't mind the Lance trade, so I don't even know why this 3rd QB business gets me worked up? lol

Really doesn't matter what they do.

Not flush the toilet enough times...use the wrong stationary...whatever....folks will always find fault with the front office.

I enjoy crapping on our front office as much as the next guy but this is a complete non-story, nothing of value was lost today.

Colts have one of the weaker rosters in the NFL. If not for the Cardinals, and possibly Patriots, they would be considered the weakest roster in the NFL.
Ok? And?

Of course they are going to gobble up a young, talented pasher rusher.

Tactical error. I said the same about Ridgeway last year.

Both were egregious errors.

They are going to gobble up a player who will, based on historical probability, be nothing. They are basically taking a flier that maybe as a young player he can beat the odds, and when your roster is terrible you can do that, but when your roster is not terrible you cannot be wasting roster spots on players that very likely to never be anything more than a low end backup.
