It's an ole' Billy Packer ploy. I'm a huge college BB fan, and the late Billy Packer was vastly overrated by most. He would routinely make his pregame analysis including what the keys for each team winning were in his estimation, then he would spend the rest of the game framing the action to match his pregame commentary perfectly. It drove me absolutely bonkers. To make it worse his broadcasting partner would almost always slobber all over him rejoicing at what a genius he was ... Broaddus does this ad nauseam.

Great explanation.

Oddly, Broaddus does a decent job doing the preseason radio broadcast with Brad Sham while Babe does the TV broadcast.

It seems that not having time to think about what happened actually helps him. He is best if he just says what he sees without trying to analyze it. It helps that Brad steers him in the right direction.

I've noticed that as well. I don't hate Broaddus, but you really do have to rein him in if you want what his commentary to add any value.

I think I made an entire thread awhile back about how some people couldn't see the big picture or deal with general concepts, but could only comprehend specifics.

I would say "Can't see the forest for the trees" but you would only understand that statement if I identified the exact type of tree, it's height and width, where the observer was relative to the forest and the trees, the temperature that day, the moisture content in the soil, the observers eyesight in terms of was he wearing glasses or contact lenses, what was the age of the observer, his nationality, skin color, his preference in food and movies, the observers education level, does he also believe that Martin Lawrence is the greatest actor ever, etc.. Whoops, etc.. is probably not specific enough.

Example of someone that obsesses on details and can't comprehend a generalization:

Forest Ranger: There's a Bear, run.

Non-Generalist: Could you give me the GPS coordinates.

Forest Ranger: He's over there (points). You need to run this way (points).

Non-Generalist: I can't run without the coordinates. You must give me the coordinates of the Bear, our current location and all of the exit points.

Forest Ranger: I'm outta here.

Non-Generalist: I will need your badge number and your bosses name and phone number. I'm going to report that you did not provide me with GPS coordinates.

Bear: Rarr.

Non-Generalist: I'll need you to state your intentions. I also need to know the size of your claws and teeth in case you bite me, then you can be identified later.

Bear: Yum.

Cannot address it directly because you have no leg to stand on.

Brown expert not xwalker.

It's more like:

*cow walks across road*
Forest ranger: That is not a bear.
Xwalker: Bovine is similar to ursine, the forest ranger is just playing semantics.

Yes, Britt Brown has spent a lot of time studying AFO no-AFO devices with the zero previous Cowboys players that have needed one...

o

oh ok let him prove it - take on Martin then tackle Zeke
you are one of those that have been down on Jaylon from day one and is terrified to be proven wrong; and as that becomes more and more clear you desperately move the goalposts. Aren't you the one that made the rather stupid claim that Jaylon would never play in a meaningful game? I am waiting for your apology when he does say early in September.

This seems to be standard practice these days:

1.Make a bet on a specific thing

2.Have poster accept bet.

3.Have bet originator not take Poster up on his/her original bet.

One shouldn't make a bet without being willing to follow through.

The originator is making the bet he won't play in a meaningful game. Is the originator of the bet going to acknowledge someone has accepted his/her bet?

Definitions for bet:

Meaningful game-any game after preseason.

Play in meaningful game- Jaylon takes one snap in any game after preseason.

Bet that was taken was posted in post 44. It is as follows- I bet you he will never play in a meaningful game.

First acceptance of bet(made after originator called anybody out on not taking the bet) is post 71.

He was with the team practicing in the pic. Shall we go over the team's schedule and when he returned to practice last season once again?

I actually searched for the pic on Dallas Cowboys.com and pulled it from the mothership's weekly practice montages. Gave you credit for it too.

I rubbed the more recent pics in your face pointing out that the brace which nearly went up to the knee was not apparent. But if you can show a pic from the spring showing a brace that would be interesting. It also would have been huge news yet did not happen.

My gosh, your complete lack of scruples to invent stories is equal parts hilarious and frightening.

You literally did no such thing.

He is an expert. You are not. Deal with it.

Your assumptions are mighty convenient.

If the Cowboys had a past player with drop-foot, we would likely know about it.

Richie is a brand. The only experts in regards to the brand names for their products is the company itself.

Brown is as expert on it as you're going to get. They discuss these kind of things thruout the league and the industry including reps for the company, ortho docs, and other trainers. No one here knows this stuff better.

Yes I did. It is interesting where you show no proof of your assertions and when called on it avoid specifics. I guess we do need to go over specifics.

The pic was from a Cowboys practice. He left the team in January and did not return until late May. It is what it is.
