And intellectual honesty is your nemesis.

You claimed he wasn't wearing an AFO device AT ALL in those photos. Like I said, in an effort to pat yourself on your back, you only managed to contradict your own claims.

You should have just shut your mouth and left well-enough alone.

Again, I said that there was no evidence of one. There was not. Deal with it.

BTW, I am getting plenty of support in this thread. You are getting none. Posturing on your part is cute though.

BET YOU HE WILL NEVER PLAY IN ACTUAL MEAHNINGFUL GAME AN WILL LMAO WHEN HE DOES NOT - LISTEN TO ALL YOU GUYS JUST WISHING ON A STAR - HE CAN ACTUALLY LIFT HIS PNKY RIGHT NOE

Smith continues to wear a brace on his left leg for foot drop. The linebacker can take part in the Cowboys' rookie minicamp this weekend because he missed all of last season while rehabbing. However, Garrett said Smith will likely only participate in meetings and walk-throughs.

"He's going to do the veteran stuff on the field on Tuesday and Thursday, so I don't anticipate him doing a lot on the field over the weekend," Garrett said. "But he'll go through the meetings and the walk-throughs (during the three-day minicamp)."

Takers for what?

I am curious how a video of Smith purposely falling to let an 8 year old feel good about himself proves anything.

Like I'm shaking my head that you had to even write that.... unreal right?

Right, no "evidence" other than the very article this thread is based on. No "evidence" but the photo of Jaylon wearing the exact same streamlined AFO I told you he was wearing months ago which you denied.

And that's right at your wavelength confusing "likes" for substance.

You're spent.

What are you talking about ? You do know there's actual footage of him on the field during OTAs / Minicamp. Right?

Talking of lack of substance, you ever going to address my rebuttal? I said there was no proof of a AFO up to that point. I never said it was impossible.

I await your next ad hominem.

No "proof" if you're limited in your capacity of understanding Jaylon's recovery timeline.

In ignorance you assumed since you didn't see him running around in the same bulky AFO he wore in August 2016 that it must mean he wasn't wearing one at all.

I told you he was wearing a more streamlined AFO, provided you picture examples/info and links and you scoffed.

Then came the pictures from a 3-4 months ago that showed him wearing that EXACT AFO type I mentioned.

You've been trying to rewrite history since and pulling the virtual internet blanky over your head.

Nick Eatman, DallasCowboys.com: "I know the fans are eager to see him and everyone in the organization is the same way. We all want to see him healthy and just how good he can be. I have my doubts that we will be able to see him at 100 percent this year. That doesn't mean we won't see him at all. Just like any player coming off a knee injury, they're not going to be as good in the first year back as they'll be the following year. My expectations are that Smith will play at some point in the preseason and then will have a limited role early in the regular season. From there, we'll have to see how it goes and he responds from playing football for the first time in two years. I hope he comes in and plays lights out. But I think they'll be overly cautious with Smith to the point that he really won't be turned loose until later in the season or even next year. But again, it's progress. He might turn out to be a superstar. I just have a hard time thinking we're going to see it sooner than later."

You showed one pic from November of 2016 where he was wearing the streamlined one. I gave you credit for it. The issue was that AFO went all the way up the calf and the tape jobs in question that Spring stopped right above the ankle.

He was not wearing that brace in the Spring pictures else we could see it under the knee. We did not. There were no pics from April May with him wearing that semi-rigid AFO. You are making that up.

And you are not the arbiter of the past. your recollections are conveniently obtuse of my responses.

Never during that minicamp did I see him push off his “bad’’ foot to make a play in live action.

Sometimes during that training camp I saw him finish off a drill and come up with the slightest of limps.

What happens when we get to camp and he must push off that foot to stick with a Jason Witten option route?

What happens when he clashes, “bone-on-bone’’ as defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli likes to call it, with 300-pounds of Zack Martin?

Does he shed Martin, regain his footing, and tackle Ezekiel Elliott for a loss?

It might sound cliche, but the best way to handle the Jaylon Smith situation is - prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

LOL. What?

You just said above that you think he will never play in a meaningful game and then you provide an Eatman quote where he says he thinks he will play but might be brought along slowly at first early in the season.

I didn't realize you watched all of the minicamps! What other insights can you provide us?

Also, Broaddus made a claim that he looked like he was limping but other reporters refuted that with some saying if you didn't know who Smith was, you'd never know he was coming off a serious knee injury. So my guess is the "limp" you saw wasn't actually a real limp but rather you hoping to see a limp.

Side note, it looks to me like he's permanently altered his gait during rehabilitation. I know when I went through an ACL/menisectomy, I changed the way I walked. It's clear to me from the footage of Jaylon that he's got a hitch in his get-along.

That's not necessarily an indication that he's got a structural problem. He might have just adapted during the interval and hasn't adapted it back yet. Or he might have adapted and isn't quite able to adapt it back yet. Over time, these adaptations tend to lead to injuries elsewhere as what you're doing is essentially compensating for a deficiency or the artifact of a deficiency in one area by putting more of a requirement in another. It'll be up to the trainers to help him re-correct that as he gets more control back with time. Short term, he sure looks like he's capable of moving well, and other players are saying the same things. I think he'll be able to at least give us some quality rotational snaps this season.

This quote directly contradicts your claim.

I believe that was a recent report from Eatman. There have been a lot of red flags being brought up by local beat writers and insiders lately, but everyone keeps ignoring that because they want to out-"RAH RAH" each other.

This is why I keep saying to wait and see, or everyone is going to be sorely disappointed.

Just out of curiosity, what red flags?

I think even back when mini-camp ended, most fans knew that there was still hurdles to clear for Smith to even be ready to play substantial minutes for the team.

But to the point of my post, bodi said he'd never play a game and then quotes Eatman who says pretty much the opposite of that.

The big one is the whispers that the front office isn't banking on him ever being 100% anymore. That's not a good sign. Then you hou have the limping, the not pushing off with his left foot very often and reportedly often having trouble when he does. These things don't bode well when he's not even wearing pads yet. And the risk of reinjury because of the brace. Honestly, I'm just hoping he can stay healthy and make the gameday roster, but it seems like most of the debate is "Jaylon will be an All-Pro!!!" on one side and "Jaylon will never play a down!!!" on the other.

Did I miss something? Where was it reported that the front office doubts he will be 100%?

Second, the limping and not pushing off his left foot is more myth than reality and not widely reported in the press. In fact, coming out of mini-camp, many of the beat guys were saying the opposite......... that essentially, based on the little work they saw of Smith, you wouldn't have known he was coming off a serious leg injury.

Why waste your time with people who are openly rooting for him to fail. They don't have much common sense.
