Do you have any insight as to why Kidd wasn't playing last 30 seconds or so at end of 4th quarter? And do you agree with Kidd not playing during the crunch time?

Just trying to Mavs fan's perspective.

It was bit puzzling for me but I have lot of respect for A. Johnson and I'm sure he had his reasons.

I found it very puzzling.

I talked to another Mavs' fan at work this morning about it. He thought that maybe Avery hasn't gotten used to the fact that Kidd is in the lineup, or he doesn't feel that Kidd knows the offense well enough (???). If Devin was still here you would probably have seen that same lineup on the final possession (Damp, Dirk, Stack, Terry, and Josh).

I know it couldn't be because he's deficient in rebounding for his position. He's one of the best at his size.

You could point to his shooting percentage, but he's out there to give someone an open look, not hit the game-winning jumper.

I thought we brought Kidd in specifically to be Mr. Clutch and Mr. Closer and assert his will at the end of games. Even if we had lost with him on the floor last night, we're paying him $20 million to be there at the end of games. Yet he's on the bench. I really don't like to see that.

Empty trophy case must really suck, kinda like Eagles fans, always looking up.

Dude-that really is a waste of your time. Its like you have no more cards to pull out so you use that one over and over. If you really knew how I could care less you probably wouldn't say it so often. You lost to the Suns then pull out some Win Loss record to compensate. Then you go off on your own about the Suns losing to New Orleans and spout off about that. All the meanwhile forgetting that this sorry team I root for handed you your butt the last time we played you.

i think it was a combination of kidd being new and making lots of turnovers right now because he doesnt know his teammates very well and he didnt want kidd taking a game winning shot. i think he was just scared kidd might try to do somthing crazy and turn it over

Ah, good point. The Mavs have been very pass happy since his arrival, and more turnover prone. I totally overlooked that one.

Suns drop one to the Sixers at home... what's going on there?

The West isn't as much fun with the Suns tanking.

Must be why all the Suns fans are so cranky :lmao2:

I am sure its Bruce Bowen's fault somehow

Serious question for the Suns fans here... if the Suns miss the playoffs this year, should Kerr be fired for making the Shaq/Marion trade?

haha, the east is way too pathetic for them to lose in the first round, but you dont want him anyway, maybe larry brown, the only person i can think of that would be an update whose available.

as for the suns, at least the sixers have won 11 of their last 12 or soemthing, so they are pretty hot!

1 of 9 NBA Gallery PHOENIX (AP)—That Shaquille O’Neal deal isn’t working out too well so far for Phoenix.

Andre Iguodala scored 32 points, and the Philadelphia 76ers held on to beat the Suns in Phoenix for the first time in six years, 119-114 on Saturday night.

Andre Miller added 25 points and 12 assists for the 76ers, who shot 57 percent after being blown out at Golden State 119-97 on Friday night. Willie Green scored 17, including three crucial free throws in the final 18.2 seconds.

The 76ers are 11-1 in the second game of their last 12 back-to-back situations.

“I think we’re a really good team after losing a game,” Iguodala said. “Whenever we lose a game, we come back with a vengeance.”

The Suns lost consecutive home games for the first time this season to fall to 2-4 since O’Neal joined the lineup.

“It’s probably an understatement if I say we’re struggling,” Suns coach Mike D’Antoni said.

The Suns have fallen into a tie for fifth with Dallas in the Western Conference, but D’Antoni declined to connect those struggles with O’Neal’s arrival.

“This has nothing to do with Shaq,” D’Antoni said. “This has nothing to do with Shaq,” he said. “This has something to do with urgency and playing with heart.”

O’Neal said the problems are on defense.

“We have to have some urgency and stop some people,” he said. “I’m fitting in. I’m swinging the ball to the top and I’m only taking four or five shots a game. I’m just rebouunding and trying to fit in. But right now we just have to stop people.”

Amare Stoudemire had 26 points and Leandro Barbosa scored 22 for Phoenix. Steve Nash had 21 points and 11 assists and after a tough game triggered a late rally that cut the lead to 116-114 with nine seconds to go.

“You don’t want to push the panic button and get yourself all messed up,” Nash said. “But at the same time we realize how tight it is and we can’t play like this for too long and put ourselves out of the playoff picture.”

The 76ers led most of the night in snapping a five-game losing streak in Phoenix. Their last victory on the Suns’ court came on Jan. 2, 2002.

Iguodala, a collegiate standout at Arizona, made a 50-footer from beyond halfcourt at the third quarter buzzer to put the 76ers ahead for good 83-81. That started a 15-2 run that put Philadelphia up 95-83 with 7:21 to play on a 19-footer by Williams.

The lead reached 103-87 on Iguodala’s 18-footer with 4:52 to play.

Nash scored nine points on three free throws and a pair of 3-pointers, the last with 18.2 seconds left, to cut it to 115-112. But Raja Bell was called for a foul before Philadelphia got the ball inbounds. Green made the free throw and the 76ers kept possession by rule.

Grant Hill stole Miller’s inbounds pass and Stoudemire’s tip-in cut it to 116-114 with 10 seconds left. But Green made two more free throws, then Bell threw the ball away, the Suns’ 18th turnover. Miller’s two free throws at 6.3 seconds finally sealed it.

The Suns shot 27 percent in the first quarter and trailed by as many as 12 early before their 36-point second quarter, led by Boris Diaw’s 13, left the game tied at 54 at the half.

The 76ers used a 9-0 spurt to take a 74-64 lead on Iguodala’s 3-pointer with 4:53 to go in the third, but Phoenix responded with 15-2 run to go up 79-76 with 1:01 to go in the period.

Philadelphia coach Maurice Cheeks said it all starts with Iguodala and Miller.

“We need those two guys to play the way they played tonight in order for us

Notes

Diaw had more points at halftime (15) than he did in 50 of his previous 58 games this season. … The Suns last lost consecutive home games since February 2007, when they dropped three straight. … Phoenix is 22-4 against Eastern Conference teams but has dropped its last two, both at home.

I would rather have an empty case then a star player who demands a trade non-stop in the summer and then when his team is good again he hops back on his own bandwagon. Yeah that's a teammate... I agree, he is an excellent player, but great play doesn't excuse attitude.
your priorities are out of whack then.

He makes alot of stupid decisions, I would not mind him as an assistant but I would pray he would never become our head coach. I would really like to see Sean Elliott as an assistant and then future head coach but I have no idea if he would even have the desire to do so.

Not at all. I don't understand all the talk about the Shaq blame. The Suns shot 27% in the first quarter. You don't win a lot of games with poor shooting and you sure don't win it with bad defense. That had nothing to do with him. Cohesion is a vital part of any team's chemistry and the Suns will improve by season's end.

What most non Suns fans do not realize is that Marion has been a key ingredient during the season but repeatedly failed miserably when it came time to rock in the offseason. There was a poll done and most Suns fans wanted this trade to happen just due to that reason. Otherwise if Marion plays consistent throughout the season and the playoffs-we would never want to get rid of him. Im still glad hes gone because the team needed a change. Nash might have this year and next and thats it for him I believe so there isnt a large window there for a good run.

Hopefully some day you will come to your senses about the Bowen issue.:p:

You have been repeatedly shown proof of that by more people than just myself. If you joined a general NBA board and spouted off about Bowen over there-youd simply be ground up to oblivion.

Let's say that for some crazy reason, I really don't get fazed over an empty trophy case or the Suns losing. Where does that leave your will to live at this point?:)

Some would rather win with class and risk never having a trophy then taking morally-flawed players to represent your team.

Give it a break kid. You will never convince anyone who doesn't already think he is dirty, that he is dirty.

Just like like I could not convince you how stupid Stodamire is .... or how much of a elbow throwing flopper Nash is.

Same thing. If they had won multiple championships jealous people would make video's of them.

But we will NEVER have to worry about that. :laugh2:

I am not convincing anyone. The truth is out there, has been out there and will continue to be out there. Like I stated many times before, you were presented evidence and you simply can't stand to see it. Using some stupid Championship title or trophy is an extremely poor excuse for all the many accusations against Bowen as well as flopper extraordinaire-Manu the Trout.

If the Spurs go down the tubes and never revive I will still provide said evidence and it makes no difference what their record states. Your argument is weak at best and using the excuse that the Spurs winning a Championship somehow gives reasoning to questionable play is downright stupid kid.
