But he didn't look like a generational player when he was coming out. Hence being drafted at #11.

He was a far more dominate player in college than Ramsey was. Don't know that you can predict who will be a generational player before they play. I mentioned watt because that's what my definition of a generational player is. Not really about him coming out

If it's Ramsey or Bosa, I say draft Ramesy. He's the more sure fire hit pick. Bosa's history makes me nervous.

Well they speak to coaches, and over the yrs this is where most of the right stories and what the teams done have come from. Sure they dont get all right, but most of the stuff they talk about is directly from the team

I agree with you. They certainly have more insight than we do.

Remember this is what 3 or 4 people talking for an hour with who knows where they get their info from. Mostly it's their opinions from a blurb from a coach, or liquor store clerk...cramped in a 4 x 6 room....and it is draft time with Jerry speak, coach speak...and even liquor store clerk speak....

So you're saying that these 3 or 4 people talking for an hour cramped in a 4x6 room, these people who have access to the coaches and Valley Ranch don't have any more information than you do just sitting at home on your computer speculating?

Bosa for me. Only 20, with attitude. Made more plays in college and was unblock able at times.

I wonder if we could find ourselves trading down to 7 or even 9 and still have the chance to pick Zeke.

Rumors of TB wanting to move up. My fear would be falling back to 9 then Miami jumping to 8 and snagging him.

I really think SD takes him. So are you on the Zeke bandwagon?

The consensus best player in the draft falls to 5? This has been a crazy offseason.

I may have built the wagon pulling the band....lol..l.

Yes.....:lmao:

Was half joking, but much of it is their opinions based upon snippets from coaches...I said that in my posts.
The coaches are not going to tip their draft or even player status at this point in time.
The Hardy stuff, and things like that. Yes they are more forthcoming with it. But not the draft....not at this point...

I think so. Keep in mind Mo and Carr are on the last year of their deals. We will need a CB pretty bad. I think Ramsey can be an ok CB but he would be a much better safety. You could play him like jones last year. A bit of both and see if a true CB falls to you are you hit on a guy later. Then move him to safety after you fill that need be that this year or next

I don't believe in drafting a player because of players being FAs the next season. That is like reaching for a position.
If he is the BPA then that is different. But is he the best player from your board, or was your board put together to gear toward certain players....

Just imagine Jones and Ramsey as our safteys....

Well they better carry the D, as no pass rush and no offense....they better get those INT's and score ally....lol...but Ramsey don't get picks....
J/k about the no offense part, but as that depends on Rono anyway.

I think if you look at any ranking, he is the highest ranked player who could be there. Now if he is gone then tunsil will be the highest rated player but don't think taking another first rnd oline guy is a smart move. At some point you have to pay them and that could eat a huge chunk of cap space

He may be a generational athlete but don't see the generational player. Watt is what a generational player looks like

Nobody was calling Watt a generational player coming into the draft.

Just saying.

I'd still take the trade down. Looking at the likely targets at 4: Bosa, Ramsey, Elliot, Buckner - I'd take my chances on moving down to the 7-9 range and hoping to land one of them, probably Elliot or Buckner. If we lose out on Eilliot I'd still take Buckner or one of the other DL at that point plus whatever we get in the trade over staying at 4.

I just can't see the team liking Bosa. He is not a RKG. When he comes to his first NFL practice, is he going to head up to the coaches and, 'sup?' Or is he going to act like a grown man with professional aspirations (as other top picks act)?

Ramsey, at the very least, doesn't come off like a drunk frat boy.

That being said, why are we even seriously considering drafting a guy at 4 when we don't even know where he'll play?

Seriously? Doesn't that kind of position ambivalence make the team nervous? It's not like Ramsey will dominate at either/or. If you were sure that he would dominate at one of the positions, it stands to reason you'd plan to put him at one. The fact that the team, or scouts, don't even know which one he'd be better at implies that he's actually not capable of one or the other.

And furthermore, we're going to draft a safety at four who's shown no talent at turning the ball over? How is that going to put us in the Superbowl?

IT doesn't imply that at all in my pinion. In a violent sport his position flex is actually helpful imo.

I'd prefer him at safety long-term and no I don't think top 5 is too high for a safety in this day and age of pass catching TEs, slot receivers and overall pass vs rush lean.
