I agree. The guy seems like some scary "mr perfect". Everything about the guy seems forced and fake to me. Like you said, I wouldn't be shocked if he's busting with child porn or something sick. Something about him just screams that he's hiding something.
I think he's overrated as a player and believe Denver reached in the draft.

But I haven't heard him build himself up to be something perfect at all...there is a certain faction of the public and media doing that. That usually does not end well. 100% of the people on the planet have many flaws--there are no exeptions and he seems very aware of that.

I'll give him this--he certainly seems like he's a guy willing to bust his tail whether the camera is there or not. How that translates on the field remains to be seen. Also, I don't see him pointing fingers that much like some here seem to be doing to him...interesting twist really.

I just don't see the fake thing you describe. He's still a kid. But you do have a right to tear the kid down if you wish.

I agree. I don't see Tebow as some perfect guy without flaw but I do not think he is fake. His missionary work he was doing before he was ever in the spotlight says allot about him as an individual as it does for any person willing to give up the comforts of home to live and help those in need. I have a respect for people like this regardless if he is a football player or some guy holding down a regular job.

I've already posted too much about a non-Cowboys player, but I'll sum up what I think about Tebow:

1. A video was just posted here recently that showed another Florida Gator that was on one knee balling like a baby...that guy was Emmitt Smith after a loss to Auburn...10-7, I believe. Do I think Tebow will be NEAR as successful as Emmitt was in the NFL? No way, but I do know that passion to win has not only forced Tebow to tears, but guys that we hold in high regard.

2. Sure, he is using his popularity to proclaim his religion. Frankly, I'd rather see that than another Strahan Subway commercial or a unstoppable Eli Manning advertisement. If that's the worst thing he ever does, I think we can live with watching him play football...unless he delivers a sermon on the 50-yard line.

3. His work ethic. I think many of us as football fans should be appreciative to how hard Tebow is working and of his dedication to football. That was one of the things I really respected of TO when he was there. He always worked hard even though he was a knucklehead.

4. Frankly, I'd like to see him do well just to tick people off. People are still rooting for Rapistburger and have always loved Lawrence Taylor, but they knock this kid...go figure.

That is all from me.

I agree. It seems as though most would rather root for a good guy to fail than root for him to succeed.

I am rooting for him.

You realize that many Dallas Cowboys, in some cases all-time greats, have done the very same thing?

Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin disgust you as well?

Regardless of what he does for a living the guy has shown himself as a standup person. Until he shows otherwise I don't quite understand the mindset some have shown towards him.

I remember a distraught Michael Irvin crying on the sidelines as the season came to an end, I believe in 1998. Were any of you criticizing him then?

I see your statement went overlooked.

No doubt Mike has always wore his emotions on his sleeve and still does that is just part of what makes Mike who he is.

I agree on all four accounts. I'll never understand why all the ignorant, blind hate.

I already have a Romo jersey, I won't buy another one.
Probably not too many people going to keep buying jerseys of players they already have. Except Ware, I still don't have a throwback for him, but will sometime this year.

I think most do acknowledge he has a steep climb to make it as a QB in the NFL. I don't consider him a hero or deserving of being put on a pedestal he is a good young man who has done nothing to be mocked.

Hell he is not the 1st to cry after a loss or a win he will not be the last. He plays the game with allot of emotion and has always given his best. I'm not sure if his best will be good enough in the NFL but as far as is character the guy has displayed nothing but class.

You're making an assumption that I'm some sort of Tim Tebow supporter.

I just don't understand the blind hate. I never once indicated that I was a Florida Gators, Denver Broncos, or Tim Tebow fan.

But I applaud your effort.

I get the oddest feeling about the guy sometimes.

It's almost like that old saying if it is too good to be true...

Sometimes I just think that one day we will find out that behind the scenes he is a serial killer, pedophile or junkie....something bad that is just a 100% opposite of what his public persona shows.

Now do I think that he is one or all of those things...not really, it is just one of those feelings you have with some people.

Don't know what it is about him. I am sure he is a great guy but just that weird feeling that something is hiding there.

I agree with the too good to be true theory. Time will tell.

I was curious as to how much you would sell Zaxor to me for because it's crystal clear to me that you own him.

Tebow is for real. There is nothing fake about Tebow. He is a great person who was raised right, and he backs up his persona through what he does off the field for other people. I think Denver reached where they drafted him, but I wouldn't bet against him down the road. He is a high character guy who works hard. He may not make it, but he has a chance.

It took 4 years to get Tebow out of Gainesville, and I still see him running up the gut on a long 4th down in Knoxville with the game on the line. Now, he's in the Zone.
