Why do we give contract extensions to players who blew their knees out the prior season?
This is the only thing that gets me. At least have him play the first half of the season to show that he is healthy. No reason to rush it. If he cleared that hurdle, then pay the man. I'm fine with the dollars if he returns to form, but going on a wing and a prayer kind of sucks.

Good for Steele…but wow that’s a lot of $ for a RT that is replaceable
I agree, you only really should lock up the uber talent, like your LT and an interior guy, you should be looking to find guys to replace the others every year. Steele is not a player you lock up with big dollars, neither is Biadasz.

Yeah it’s a 10 page thread. The same people complaining so you are not missing anything.
Well that's why I have some of those guys on the ignore list but I still wanted to participate or at least tell people how ignorant they are for saying negative things you wanna link me to it??

I’ve said this over and over again, and I know this goes against the premise of message boards/forums. We do not have all the expertise, data, meeting room access, practice access and all the other tools that the professionals have to make their decisions. So our opinions are formulated by what?

What a stupid contract in terms of money given to a so-so RT who has only played 40 games. Leave it to JJ to hand out the money as stupidly as he does. Sadly, the next welfare recipient will be Dak.
Steele had the seventh highest grade among all offensive tackles last season and also allowed just one sack across 818 snaps played.

If that is "so so" there are about 50 garbage starting OT's in the NFL right now.

Some here think that they overpaid for Steele....while it is a lot of money and more than i thought he was worth, this is the NFL for you. Good OL are hard to come by. It also tells me that Awesome Richards is future LT and Bass at RG. And not a lot of confidence in Ball or Waletzko. Dallas really needed Steele more than he needed Dallas...he would have been paid next season by someone. Good for Steele, his signing was very necessary and deserved.

Insanity.
This is more shocking than when Romo signed that hideous 108 million dollar deal 10 years ago. And how did that play out?

Steele has gone from undrafted turnstile...to torn ACL.....to multi millionaire faster than a Dak pick 6. This is just unbelievable.

Just amazes me how this franchise over-values mediocrity....:banghead:

I am pretty sure Zach Martin said that this kid was the best blocking right tackle he had played with. That’s awfully high praise from one of the best to ever do it.

A Tech guy too. I’m a fan and he has been a great bang for the buck player.

Tyron will be off the books next year and Zack soon thereafter. Plenty of $ to go around on the OL.
