It's not ODBish but then few are. He ran halfway across the field and was already dragging his toes while trying to catch a ball that was over the sideline edge with 2 other guys right in his bubble. What more do you want in a catch?

It was a great catch, but it didn't require him to use an extraordinary catch radius in any way shape or form to catch the ball. He had to run fast (which isn't a problem for him) and dot the i's to stay in bounds.

He's a body catcher and that makes it hard for him to make completions unless he's well open or the ball is put on the money.

We averaged 10.1 yards per attempt when throwing to Williams (10.9 in games Romo started), and 14.9 percent of the passes thrown toward him went for touchdowns (16.4 percent in Romo's games).

How will we ever solve this huge problem on our offense?

I'm ambivalent about Williams. When he is used he is effective if boom or bust. I just wish I understood better why Romo never looked at the weakside. Was it gameplan or was it performance.

Escobar played the 5WR sets on the weakside slot with Williams split out wide. Several games went by and Romo seldom even looked. Are Dez and Beasley/Witten that good? I dunno.

We won all those games. We were running the ball with the lead. Why do we need an upgrade when we're winning even when he doesn't rack up numbers? Why mess with what's working

Hey, that's 1 way of looking at it.

There are times in the game we needed some yards, and the run game couldn't get it. Would be nice to have a guy the defense actually had to pay attention to. Outside of Dez and our O-Line.

Last year Williams had two games in the second half, Jax and Chicago, where he was not targeted once in either game. Take those two games out and the numbers over the rest of the games is pretty much the same. The issue in the OP is more perception than reality.

See this is the same thing I was saying.

I get we ran a lot, ok. His numbers won't be pretty. Why is Beasley or witten getting more looks than him? Like you said, why has Romo not looked his way? Just because?

I really believe it's a performance issue. That and the fact that Romo does not have a great Zip, let's be honest. So when you don't have a great Zip, and you have a WR who would rather catch the ball with his body, it's a recipe for disaster.

Terrance had the third best rookie season for a WR in Cowboy history in 2013.

In 2014 there were leas passes to go around as the result of their succesful running attack. However, if you were to measurw contribution as a percentage of the overall team completions, Williams has a higher contribition his 2nd year.

Still any attempt to "upgrade" would be a waste when the other two main targets are future HOFers.

Two seasons in a row Terrance Williams has started the season strong, but fades badly in the second half of the season. I wonder what is going on with this kid. I'm in the camp that wouldn't be opposed to upgrading the WR2 position, but I do like this kid. I wish he would become a more reliably consistent catcher who uses his hands rather than his body.

We're going to need to lean on him more this year, so I hope he is there for us.

TW faded in the middle because he had a hand injury. TW was big in the playoffs and made some big catches at the end of the yr. I really have no idea what ur tryiong to say with this. I dont know what more people want from the #2 WR in Dallas that got over 750yrds and 11 tds okaying behind a top 2 WR a HOF TE and a RB who got over 500 touches last yr. Only so many plays in a season.

I think we would be a bit more deadly. Yeah I think He would be more effective.

its a twisted argument, Dez didnt even hit 1000 yards when LR was here and only half the catches. If Dez caught a 100 than LR probably would have TW numbers

came in this thread expecting Frozen700 to be one of those that hit the "like" button on the first post, never would've imagined he would be the only one to have done so

This receiving corps worries me, we have no burner and no above average route runner. Beasley and Williams is all Romo. Just like Austin Collie was all Peyton Manning.

You know this right...guys?

He did well in the Lions game in the playoffs. :)

Exactly. He played a huge part in our comeback.

And technically the same thing could be said for Dez as well since there are stretches where he disappears in games as well.

Well that's the issue. We didn't have to force the ball to Dez because LR proved to be a capable target.

Last year it was basically Dez or bust
