I think the cowboys need to teach guys like Randle and TWilliams how to speak to the media. Even if he was taking plays off how stupid of him to say it to the media.

All the fans that think their is no problem, needed to know this.

So if he has a Austin, or LR type season, everybody will know it came from him fixing something.

All those games where he had 0 catches or 2-3 catches for like 25 yards. Everyone defended him saying "Oh we just run the ball a lot, and their are other options on the field". That is just defending a man blind. Nobody that would defend him, would admit he took plays off.

A lot of times Romo would drop back, have a bunch of time, but couldn't find a guy open. This can't happen if you are T-Will vs 1 on 1 coverage.

The other problem is that he body catches..................this severely limits his catch radius.........................that is why almost all the top WRs in the NFL catch with their hands and not their body.

Add to this that he admittedly was dogging it during the games and it is troubling to say the least.

Exactly my point.

I'm honestly not concerned about this. Mainly because I have confidence in our coaching staff and the culture that's been established in the locker room.

Will Williams continue to take plays off? If he does I have no doubt he gets demoted.

But I think and expect he'll right his wrong here and elevate his game.

What's worse is a player who takes plays off and doesn't admit to it and look to atone for it.

I agree
It happens a lot, especially with young players
The fact he see's it as a problem and something he needs to fix is a good thing
As players learn that although the ball may not be coming to you, what you do is very portent in the overall sucess of a play, they tend to see the big picture and understand the structure of a play

You see...

Everyone here defended this dude and thought I was just hating everyone on the cowboys, and being picky. I knew we were not getting the type of consistent production from the number 2.

But guys like @AdamJT13 went out of their way to show me stats, like stats tell the whole story. Well straight from the horses mouth @AdamJT13 . told you I would tag you.

Coaches said and he said it. Dude was bum status. Now if he really fixes his play, and stops with the body catches he can be a solid number 2-3, right now the bum is more like #4 type WR.

I'm glad he knows he has **** to work on. Now I have hope at the #2 position.

What does this have to do with anything I posted?

I notice all the William defenders avoided this thread like it was some type of plague.

Everything. You defended him to me, and his #2 title as a WR.

The fact you defended him. and threw stats in my face, like he wasn't a problem, has everything to do with you.

Sounds to me like Williams might already be feeling pushed by some of the other receivers on the team. He doesn't strike me as the kind of guy to come out with something like this unless he felt threatened.

Well, I hope we are turning the heat up for this young fella.

Insert GIF of Romo to Williams on 3rd and long vs Seattle here.

This sounds like Desean Jackson when he was an Eagle..................................he admitted he took plays off during games as well.

Of course he was pissed over his contract whereas TWill apparently just doesn't give a dam......................motivations are different but the outcomes are the same.

Ol TWILL better get back his head back in the game or this Devin Street kid will quietly sneak in and take the position. I keep hearing positive things about Street. The Coaches seem to think he has the right tools, better hands and lot more speed. Just needs the same opportunity that TWILL got....Love the competition.....Want to see TWILL and Street COMPETE.....best WR wins.....loser grabs the clipboard.

1 play?

Those are the type of plays he needs to make consistently vs 1 on 1.

LOL

That was one of the best catches made ALL year, by ANY receiver. No receiver is making those types of plays consistently.

I realize T Will leaves a little something to be desired overall, but lets not go nuts here.

At this point, I don't think we can do any worse than T-Will. The coaching staff see's it, and fans who aren't afraid to stand up to the star, see it.

It was a great catch.

Not saying he should make more like that, but the consistency. He made a play that didn't have to be a long bomb or anything extra. He worked, and got open. We need more of that.

Ah, he's just playing mind games so opposing DB's read his statement and get lazy when covering him during a game.

Well played TWill. Well played.
