True. I frankly like how Romo blew up at him then later went back and talked to him on the sideline. The kid made a mistake he will learn but he also has very good talent that can help this team.

Yeah that was good. That was a pretty bad mistake. I also don't like Miles slowing down in his cuts either. Hopefully we'll see him mature and grow this year. May take a year or so for him to take off. Supposedly he knows how to run routes. He messed that one up last night though.

I agree. 1st real game in the NFL at home with no doubt a lot of friends and family watching in the stands. He made some mistake, he also made a couple of nice meaningful catches. He needs to shake it off and learn from his mistakes and have fun.

Didn't like the draft pick; Haven't seen anything impressive in this player. He seems awkward and below-average in basically every regard. What am I missing?

He is rookie mate. Give him a chance.

Not going to be too critical on his first NFL game but this offense is relying on you to make plays and pretty much has to deliver when his number is called.

No way that interception should have happen last night

I see the potential. But I really wished they hadn't have tried to force this so hard last night. It could have cost us more than what it did.

Harris is the better option. Big play potential be damned-- Williams has not earned half of what Harris has.

Could not agree more here. Harris is the #3 WR IMO. He really seems to just make plays.

My issue is that Harris has earned more of a role, but I think Williams and Escobar are out there soley based on draft investment - not merit. They may be the 2 All-Pro HOFers in 3 years, but they should not be taking multiple snaps away from others right now

you realize the only way players learn to be great players is playing

That's give a kid a few games to show what he is made of, before we throw him under the bus.

IMO I think it actually has a lot to do with the Baylor offense. Last year with RG3 he said they didn't really have a playbook at Baylor. They ran a handful of plays, similar to Mike Leach, but ran them out of different formations and were precise routes, etc.

So again, he's most likely never really had to learn an offense, at least at this caliber, and he's quickly realizing that he won't just run go routes in this league. He's a rook. I do question having him out there though this early if he doesn't know the offense, or routes just yet however.

I agree. Not sure why they want to put Williams on the field that much other than him running clearing patterns, perhaps busting a big play or as another said playing that X while Miles played the Y. I would like to see Harris on the field for more snaps. We'll have to wait a few games before knowing he's been supplanted. Differing game plans could call for different personnel as well as plays/lineups.

You're missing that he's a rookie, has never played in an NFL game, he missed time during training camp, he came from a very noncomplex system at Baylor and the book was thrown at him last night.

Yes he made mistakes, yes he dropped a pass. He also got open quite a few times And made some catches. All in all it's about what I would expect from your third round pick rookie who is your fourth option on 90% of the plays.

He will have his tough moments but he will also have his opportunities to make up for those moments. Just like last night when Romo showed us that there Must be something about him that he likes. Because after Terrence ran the wrong route he still looked his way and threw to him. We have a viable 4th option in Dwayne Harris so if Terrence wasn't worthy of being on the field he simply wouldn't be because Romo and Garrett would allow it.

I don't get it, most of the Time you see post and threads where people complain about the rookies not getting on the field and not getting chances until late in the season. Here we have a guy who's thrown into the mix week one any does exactly what 99% of rookies in NFL do But somehow some fans think he supposed to be perfect fresh out the box.

It's like letting your child learn to drive in a parking lot. You can do it a thousand times. But no matter how many times they perfect everything I guarantee you, you put them on the highway in rush-hour traffic in the middle of the city and they will make mistakes. Lots of them. It's how they learn. Success doesn't come from just being good it Usually comes from learning from and correcting Your mistakes.

He is a rookie and we need to give him some time to adjust to the pro game. I think the kid has talent and can develop into a good player.

I think the same logic was used in Bernardeau and Costa.

There also is the concept of bringing along slowly. Having 4 targets in the opening first half of a conference game is definitely not slowly.

I bet Giants fans said the same thing about Randle last year.

Right now, Harris is a better receiver, but Harris plays the slot, they want Miles to play the slot because no one on our team plays it like Miles who is very very effective in the slot.

They want Williams to play outside, I think they plan on giving him every chance to win that job, or course unless he does not show progress on cleaning up the rookie mistakes.

I think the kid has potential, seems to get open, last night certainly was a learning experience for him, getting yelled at on national tv. He is struggling like most rookie WR's do.

Let see how quickly he progresses, because while I do believe they want him to win the job, he can't cost us wins in the process.

I also think they need Williams to develop more for depth than Harris, If Dez or Austin get hurt they need Williams. I like Harris so I hope they get him out there, but I think they can get them both snaps.

Williams might need a year to turn into a really good receiver, he is going to have to go through a learning curve.

Don't blame the kid for being force fed the position. Even though Beasley and Harris are better receivers at this point in their careers, Williams has to live up to the expectations placed upon him due to his draft situation.
