Honestly I wish we would go with Beasley instead. He is a gamer. Our Welker if you will. Williams shall get better, but for now play the best available players.

Meh, he is going to improve a ton... as all rookies do. Frankly, I'm thrilled that the team is now using young guys and not letting them sit on the bench for the first 3 years of their time in Dallas.

It used to drive me crazy having good players who didn't see the field because they were young. Now, with this coaching staff, they're just fine watching the young fellas get out there, make their mistakes, and grow into a starting spot.

IMO, that's what winning franchises do.

I don't even understand how this argument still has life.

They want Miles in the slot. Williams is the only other real viable option outside. Harris is a slot receiver himself, he would get swallowed by space outside. It's a matter of Williams just being a better fit. That's all.

For anyone to say they don't think Williams has any potential and already be bashing him is absolute rubbish and deserves a badge of stupidity.

If people were ready to cut Dez last season. It only makes sense that some are writing off Williams before he plays 50 snaps. Unreal. You have to give the guy a chance to improve and adapt to the NFL. Lets see where he is after the season. If his ceiling was mostly forecasted as a good #2, what do people realistically expect so soon in his career?

I think he will be fine and develop into a key member of the offense THIS season.

Williams has natural ability that is easy to see. He is making some rookie mistakes, but it was game 1 of his rookie season... of course he's gonna make some mistakes.

He is going to get better each week and by the last half of the season, he is going to be helping this team win games. Point blank, period.

To add to the issue of 'forcing Williams into the lineup', Romo was targetting him with their best cover man, Prince Amukamura in tow. Not Williams fault, but that's just a horrible decision.

If Williams was drawing their best cover guy, Romo should have been looking elsewhere for easy completions.

I think you are misplacing some blame here. If I was QB, I would be under the belief that if the guy was open, I would throw to him. Why else would he be in the lineup playing? Coaches got the trust to play him then QB needs to have that trust that he can play. Even if it is against "the best cb the Giants had"

WOW.....are you really BLAIMING...ROMO....reallly...... The rookie...hint rookie....WILLIAMS needs to sit and watch the game....its to fast. to complicated and to demanding for him right now. He has not developed much from preseason....he needs time learn and the Cowboys cant just stop and wait for this young guy to develop...he must catch on over time......WILLIAMS is not as talented as DEZ BRYANT was coming out of college....he.has potential but you never know if he will ever get it...

Right now, the Cowboys need to have WR's on the field that ROMO trust, who can catch and knows the right route to run....ALA...DEZ, MILES, HARRIS and BEASLEY. There is plenty of time to develop the rookie... Williams.....he is not this years missing piece to a Superbowl....give him more time and stop blamming others for the rookies mistakes

is garbage.
Didn't like the draft pick; Haven't seen anything impressive in this player. He seems awkward and below-average in basically every regard. What am I missing?[/quote

The kid is a rookie who missed some time in camp, it's going to take time bro.

P.s..... Is that you in your avatar?

No, I'm saying that Romo should've been looking elsewhere in the first place for his first read. Again, Terence Williams hasn't done anything in a game yet and he was going against, by far, the Giants best cornerback on that interception.

Williams wasn't on the same page as Romo and he deserves some blame too, of course. But if you're Romo, do you really think any good is going to come of that? Amukamura could've picked it himself and no one would've been in the way to stop him from taking it for 6. Dumb decision. Great hustle by Murray to track down the safety who actually ended up with the interception.

Put it this way, the kids hands could definitely improve. Still think he contributes alot though.

Did Williams look open on that play? That's the point I'm trying to make.

And no. A rookie going against a former top prospect, current top 15 CB in the league who had good coverage.

Good post. The difference between Romo's 2011 and 2012 was basically the difference between a 3rd WR who knew what he was doing and one who had no clue. The fact that Romo was willing to go to Williams in the red zone is a very good sign. It means he's doing good things in practice, and he'll only get better.

He ran the wrong route so maybe he would've been open. I don't blame Romo for trying to get the ball to the rookie. If Williams doesn't catch on, Romo will stop looking his way. I was encouraged by Williams ability to get separation. I believe the catches will come with experience. He can only get experience by having the ball thrown his way.

Williams hasn't earned his spot as 3rd receiver IMO either. He didn't do much in pre season and he didn't show much last night either. From what I saw he could not get separation against man coverage. He did make a good catch on the slant route, but he got no separation and was covered well on that play. The two drops and the catch he made in the middle he was open but those were all zone defense and he was open because of the play call not because he beat a man in coverage. Hey may have potential, but I haven't seen him use it at this point. Haven't seen him beat man coverage and letting passes hit him in the chest is not helping the offense. I think Harris should be in there more at this point. Work the rook in the game to get him up to speed but don't give him the 3rd spot because he was drafted early.
