The kid has all of the physical tools but I don't think he'll ever fully mentally grasp the game.

It's easy to give TWilll a pass (no pun intended) since the Cowboys won...had that INT cost us the game, then people might feel differently....I am more than willing to give him a chance to get acclimated into his role on America's Team

btw, how about Murray running down the field to make the tackle at the 1 on that play....a 4-point tackle resulting in a FG...if he had gotten lazy there, it would have been a pick-6 play...kudos to DM for running down there and saving some points

My problem wasnt with Williams, that will take care of itself soon enough, but with Dallas trying to use a rookie in a high staked game.

I'm not gonna disagree with this, but how many times in the past have we seen Dallas fans ticked off that we won't use a rookie much at all during the season. Heck, we have people already clamoring for Wilcox to start over Will Allen. One of the things that has me the most excited about this game is that we saw our rookies playing in the game and contributing. Williams, Frederick as starters. Escobar, Webb, Wilcox and Hollowman all played rolls. That is a great sign. Playing these guys will only help us as the season goes on. Yes Williams was a liability at times, but he will learn from this. Would you rather we were forced by injury to start a green Williams come playoff time? I say keep him out there and take your lumps.

I see the potential. But I really wished they hadn't have tried to force this so hard last night. It could have cost us more than what it did.

Harris is the better option. Big play potential be damned-- Williams has not earned half of what Harris has.

Wow. People are really this down on Williams already?

I thought he flashed the ability that will one day make him an effective #2 opposite Dez Bryant.

Wow. Talk about overreaction from the OP.

A rookie WR in his first game made mistakes and didn't set the world on fire? Say it isn't so.

Knowing how this place overreacts after one game I have a feeling Terrance Williams will have a big game on Sunday.

So in closing, I'll say (reiterate) the following-
The word 'garbage' may be a little harsh. It's a relative term here. I don't know the kid personally- I'm sure he tries/is trying hard. Like I said, it's more of a knock on the team's management.
Those harping on it being 'his first game' and he being 'a rookie' are missing the point. And are foolish, imo. I don't the see the potential- first game or not. I didn't see it before the game. The game merely exposed it more for me. That said, these guys don't come off the street. They've been playing football a very long time. The NFL is a place to produce and rise. It's professional sports. Not a place for learning and patience. If he hasn't learned to catch, and catch really well, by now then- yeah, no. Goodbye. I can excuse first-game jitters, etc. but, again, that's if the talent appears evident (ie: Dez Bryant). It does not, to me, in Williams case and that's based mainly on what I have seen prior to the NYG match.
Anyone knocking my ability to analyze football talent- well, I'm sorry, you're just an idiot. But I'm not so foolish as to think I'm always correct in my assessments... so I hope some of you are right and I am wrong (as the season progresses) for the sake of the team. I'll be the first to admit it, if I am. The question is- will you?

Give the guy a break. It was his first game. Nobody knows if he's going to be good or not but this is a big overreaction.

You are missing one thing for certain, it was his first game as a Rookie.

That does seem to get lost in the mix. Only guys who do not make mistakes are those who are not playing in the game. He is a rookie he made a mistake, hell guys like Peyton Manning make mistakes and have been in the league for many years.

Players will screw up, rookies especially but for anyone to claim a player is garbage in game one of his rookie year is really agenda driven in their mindset or they have no clue about this game.

P.S. 'is garbage' was added to the thread title by a mod. I did say it... in my post, but not the title. Either way, it's a fair edit- just worth noting.

I was irritated with him, but nothing he did was any different than what Dez has done the past few years, or Miles for that matter with drops. He had to show something special in practice to unseat D Harris so quick so I will give him the benefit of the doubt and give it some time. People jump off the ledge so quick here sometimes....
