Keep in mind Cooks has a 2024 cap hit of $24.6M with no dead money for Dallas to worry about and will be 30 years old this season so this may be a one-and-done season trade opportunity for Dallas.
If traded to Dallas, the guess is that Cooks will be placed in the slot given Gallup and Lamb are on the outside.
Cap hit for Cowboys:
2023: 12M
2024: 16.5M

If we can't get Bijan Robinson, then Siaki Ika would be the pick for me at 26. Especially if we can trade down a few slots with perhaps the Chiefs. I think we could easily get him at 31. He'd make our defence nearly impossible to run against. If we take him or Mazi Smith at 26, then I'd probably go Guard at 56, and then take McBride or Tank Bigsby in round 4. This would give us the answer at NT and RB, and we'd get a top LG to help move Tyler to LT. I'd also possibly explore dealing Tyron Smith. I think, if we can get a 3rd or 4th for him, then we can also use that to possibly trade a bit higher for another tackle or guard.
Kinda wish you were the GM, Amigo

I'm all about that. Get it done.

shows the colossal failure of the brain trust by having to make another trade and pay big money for a receiver they already had on the roster....
People still actually crying about the 865 yards we lost last year? Now that’s funny!

Hop was a pipe dream, the Cardinals want too much. OBJ high ceiling but 2 knee surgeries? This is a good move. Smarter keeping early draft picks.

Exactly, and we got a very underrated WR. I'm delighted about this move. Just a few more holes now for us to fill.

He'll be the hot WR in the WCO. Looks like a wise signing so far.
Valid point— if MM does in fact go back to his WCO roots. He is saying 20-30% change though. Seems more like a moderate tweak vs a complete offensive overhaul.

Regardless, I hope you are right and that MM uses Cooks’ skillset to the fullest

Thanks, I missed the roster bonus next year when I looked at it. Weakens the trade a little, but Hou eating $6M this year more than makes up for it. The big part about next year is that it isn't guaranteed. So we can get out for 1 year and $12M if we so choose.

hes had the same career as cooper hes put up plenty of 1k+ yard seasons and some with BAD QBS, seriously the overrating of Amari and then statements like this for payers with the same career prodcution is underwhelming lOL
He's underwhelming because we were all expecting Hopkins or Stefon Diggs. ;)

Seriously, this is the same guy we tried to trade for last year, but decided he was just too expensive, so we can go without. Either we didn't really see him as a difference maker or we weren't all in last year. You choose which one.

I absolutely understand many of us are bitter, but this FO has put together a really nice value offseason and the draft is our strong suit. We are on contention next season ladies.

Oh, you were serious. Nevermind.
