For some late round draft picks the Cowboys have now replaced Anthony Brown/Kelvin Joseph with Stephon Gilmore and Noah Brown with Brandin Cooks.

This team has gotten much better in March and a lot of fans don't want to admit it.

If you think defenses fear cooks like they do Hopkins….have at it. I don’t die on that hill. Cooks much faster but he had 2 games last year of 80+ yards in 13 games. Hopkins had 5 in 9 games and scored more touchdowns
I think Hopkins is the better player. But this is not the same Hopkins from a few years ago.

I hope so...but Cooks has been traded so many times...makes you wonder if he is a cancer in the locker room or a mini - TO
I don't think he's cancer at all. Just that he's a solid #2 WR but previous teams thought they were getting a #1 ........hence his salary

Deandre Hopkins for a 2nd and we'd take on his $30,750 2023 salary and his $26,215 salary in 2024. LOL - NOPE!
Pretty sure those are arizonas figures…for 2 years his average salary was going to be $17m

I will be rooting for Cooks just like all Cowboys fans, but I’m leaning towards being unhappy with this trade.

PROS:

1. The Texans are part of his salary.
2. We are buying Cooks low.
3. May have some upside.
4. Conceptually, he can make the defense honor the deep ball. ( But that doesn’t matter with Dak’s lack of accuracy. )

Cons:

1. I don’t think he is the receiver most people think he is which is why teams keep trading him away.
2. I know they are just late round fliers but I wouldn’t have given up two picks for him. (You can look at it like he cost you two Blands or two Fekohos). That a high price for two Blands but not so much for two Fekohos.
3. I don’t think he is the type of receiver that is going to help Dak. Dak needs a big receiver with GO GO GADGET arms with his poor accuracy.
The man walks out of bed and gets 1k yards each season. The 3 times he didn't reach 1k yards was his rookie year and the 2 years he was inured.

He adds what dhop doesnt: speed. Making him a better fit.

Cardinals were asking for a 2nd + a player.

You're telling me a cooks, keeping our 2nd, and having the Texans pay him 6mil isn't better?

Coopers gone. This will we our 2nd season without him. Obviously the front office messed up there but it's irrelevant at this point.

The Cowboys in 3 years have done a very good job. Light years better than the Garrett era. Really as close as we seen in 3 decades finally making the smart decision and not tossing away high draft picks. This is not that same team or front office from 4 years ago, we have a roster with excellent competition at every level which now includes Cooks, Gallup and Tolbert plus any other WR on the roster. This trade instantly makes the team better!

I'll grant you that IS a dumpster fire.

But Lamb was 4th in WR receptions and most on here believe his QB sucks, and the league leader had "Do You Like That!" tossing him the pigskin. Many folks will sit around this offseason debating if either one of these QB's are top ten at the position.
That's a fair assessment except both Dak and Cousins are much, much better than what the Texans had at QB last year. In fact he biggest knock on both Prescott and Cousins are their big game failures, but at least they get their teams into big games.

He’s not the receiver teams think he is, lol?

Yet, somehow he keeps ringing up 1,000+ seasons.

I think the more accurate description is that a lot of our fans are unfamiliar with Cooks.
