TRADED Texans trade WR Brandin Cooks to Cowboys

I fail to see what's so different about this offseason. They've re-signed their own. They have yet to sign an outside free agent. They made two trades that cost them only late round draft picks.

This isn't some radically different approach.

They didn't do anything last year or really the last few years. The last actual TALENT they onboarded was Amari when they traded for him. It's been "hopes and prayers" since then. At least the guys they traded for this offseason have actual skins on the walls and had decent numbers "recently". I do see that as a little different but is it enough?

Cooks is a JAG.....what has he done in the last 5 yrs.....I could be wrong..and probably am.....but TY Hilton and Cooks are on PAR with each other....Give my TY..he still has the speed

He's got over 1000 yds every season that he's played at least 15 games (6)
What stood out to me is that he's only had 1 fumble back in 2018.

What stood out to me is that he's only had 1 fumble back in 2018.

Not only that he's been playing with horrible QBs lately.

Edit: in a system where he was the only remote threat, nobody else on that team had more than 550 receiving yards.

I definitely would have rather had DHop, but I'm not going to hate on this move. Especially for the price. They've had a thing for Cooks for awhile now if rumors are true that they tried to get him last season. Time will tell. At least they're making moves.

Isn't he due 18.5 million this season? Seems a little steep, so I hope there's a restructure.

Houston is paying $6 M now, and that leaves $12 M on the books for Dallas this season, and $13 M for next year. That is pretty cheap for top shelf speed and receiving.

Imo, he's underrated. He's been to two Super Bowls losing both with the Pats and Rams. Imo, in the case of the Rams, he and Kupp made a big duo that helped Goff have his best season until last season. So, he's a very good WR, especially when you have a competent QB, which we have. Even with Houston, he was good, and their QBs are horrible.

It's actually $16.5 in 2024, he's got a $3 million roster bonus and $500K game day bonus in both years.

Been working with some poor talent lately so there is still potential to look really good with what he's entering into.

This is a fantastic trade!!!!

We throw the Texans a couple of trash picks and they eat 1/3 of his salary.

Cooks is a legit reciever, he runs good routes, he catches the ball really well, and he still has the speed to take the top off the defense.

He has broken 1000 yds in 6 of the last 8 seasons and that is while playing with a lot of trash QBs..............Now we are not forced to take WR at 26 unless a stud falls to us.
