Texas Rangers 2012 Thread

Man Feliz has been so out of it this year with the injury, I don't see them starting him anymore, especially when he was already a project as a starter as is. Might just be the Feldman Era all the way now!

That would make me sad. :(

Feldman pitched well last game but he is about to get blown up soon. He sucks.
Do any of you actually trust Feliz? Id rather have Ogando in there.

ESPN said no Profar or Olt... Awesome!!!

2nd best ERA in baseball right now. 2.25.

The ESPN article says a position player and a pitcher, both minor-leaguers.

I heard that it is these two:

3B Christian Villanueva and RHP Kyle Hendricks

Yep, per ESPN

"Texas will send third baseman Christian Villanueva and right-handed pitcher Kyle Hendricks, both from high-Class A Myrtle Beach, to the Cubs, a source confirmed."

Not a lot to give up, even for a rental.

I'm good with that. Villanueva is the centerpiece but we are very deep at 3B so he would probably have been shipped eventually.

Feliz is done. Needs Tommy John surgery. I think his time here is up anyway, we don't have time to develop him as a starter when he finally gets back on the mound in 1+ year from now. He'll lose his spot to some hungry youngsters like Perez and Grimm...that's just the way the game works. You're looking at Yu, Harrison, Holland for sure in your 2013 rotation. Then probably try to upgrade one spot in free agency or re-sign Dempster if he is worth it. Then Grimm and Perez will battle it out for the final spot.

And I think Ogando is our closer of the future once Nathan is done here.

So what is Feliz? Our setup guy when Adams is gone or trade bait? I'd honestly rather have Ogando for long relief.

Feliz will remain a rotation candidate, that's where his most value is. He's not a FA until 2016 and he's only 24. There's plenty of time for him to develop.

Hahaha, yeah I saw that reading some of the comments on there at the end of that Oswalt article.

Feliz will have to develop in the future. He is done for this year and next, Tommy John surgery. I hope he is able to recover and pitch well in the future though, I like the guy.

if you're going to survive on lonestarball just make sure to check your sensitivity at the door.

it's only a matter of time before we're in 3rd place.

The Rangers just aren't the same this year. They had one great month in April and that's it...they've been "just getting by" the rest of the way. After two straight losses in the championship series, it's just too much of a climb again, especially in baseball, with the long season

They'll be ok... adding Dempster was a HUGE move...

With the talent on this team they have a short window and adding top talent is a key...

The Angels are loaded... but so are the Rangers... we'll be in the mix when all is said and done...
