should fans be concerned about the rangers record against the best teams in the AL this year?

What about Baltimore, Detroit and Oakland?

The Rangers starting pitching is all over the place. So is their offense. They definitely don't seem as solid as they have the last couple of years.

That said. The Oakland As are on a three game losing streak and all we could do is add a single game of distance during that time. :( They are now 4 games back.

Well the thing they improved big time this year is the bench. They got outplayed in the World Series when it came to playing NL style and having pinch-hitters come in (Esteban Herman :bang2:). This year, Craig Gentry has become an offensive threat, Soto/Napoli is a good combination at catcher, and Brandon Snyder is OK.

It appears Yu is finally getting his control down with the new ball. He has been lights out the last few games. I remember when some around here were already trying to label him a bust of sort. :laugh2:

My expectations for Yu this year have definitely been met. I was hoping for an ERA in the 3s. Over the last few games, he has finally got it back down into the 3s at 3.90. I was hoping for at least 15 wins, he is at 16 now. Finally, I was hoping for 180 strikeouts and he is already at 214.

This guy is without question going to be a top of the rotation guy. I think he will be a bonafide ace by next year. I suspect within two years baring injury, his ERA will be in the 2s.

At this point it really doesn't matter Yankees and As are going to beat each other up and then a 4 game head to hear series next week decides the division.

Josh and Beltre need to be back then... anything worse than a split will make the final series interesting.

Beat the angels and get swept by the mariners? That would be taking a step back, Oakland's not going away and have a great chance to take the division from us.

We've got 10 games left and 7 of them are against the As. We've got a 4 game cushion. If the Rangers offense doesn't pick it up, it's going to be a tough 10 games.

2 wins against the As and that will about seal it. The magic number is 7. I hope Hambone plays tonight.

BELTRE for MVP, give it to the guy who's team is in the playoffs. Where would the Rangers be without his spectacular play?

Agreed. Trout had many chances in that series last week to win games for the nasty Angels, he choked like a little girl every time.

Why is Lowe pitching in this series?

Can't decide who is worse; Lowe, Oswalt or Feldman.

Really not sure why Wash trotted that guy out there in that position.

Ya I don't understand, this isn't a series to fiddle around with.

We also have Perez start tonight...
