Bump. Nice to sweep the O's to remain in first place. It would be great to get at least 3 of 4 from the A's to be rolling in the All-Star break.

Looks like a real possibility. A's cannot hit the ball right now. Wilson is pitching tomorrow and could very well pitch a shutout.

I just read on Facebook that a man died at the game tonight, any news on that? whats the story?

A foul ball was hit that bounced from the stands back onto the field near Hamilton. An adult called out for the ball behind the scoreboard and Hamilton tossed it up to him. The ball was a little short so the fan reached out to grab it, lost his balance, and dropped 20 feet. He was still conscious at the time but later passed at a nearby hospital. Sincere condolences to the fans family. And prayers to Hamilton as well because I know he's feeling really bad right now.

A foul ball went into LF and Josh threw it up to a fan stand on 1sr row. He leaned over and lost his balance and fell 20 ft down between scoreboard and stands. His 4 yr old was standing there with him. Awful! Josh is very upset right now according to team. Thought and praywrs to his family.

to make the story even sadder, the man's four year old son was by him and witnessed the whole thing.

Prayers out to the family and to Josh Hamilton as well.

I was right on the rail in right field, just across from where it happened. I saw the whole thing. The guy was big, and the way he went over the rail, head first, it looked really, really bad. But he fell behind the wall, which showed out of town scores for the most part, and was not visible. Many of the crowd let out a cry of shock, including me, at seeing the guy fall over the rail. Play halted for a bit, but not long. We did not know what was going on.

But about five minutes later I went out for a beer, heard the ambulances coming to the stadium. I went back in and saw an usher rushing to the folks remaining where the guy had been, then rushing back out. I figured it must be bad...

But no announcement was ever made, nothing ever acknowledged in the stadium. I only heard the guy died on 1310 The Ticket on my drive home, then saw Nolan Ryan's statement on ESPN when getting home.

How immensely sad. And like I said, I was in right field across from the guy in left. Had all that happened in right field, well, I was right on the rail as well...man.

Really just a tragic thing.. i feel so bad for the guy's son and family.. and the guy who tried to grab him and couldn't quite get him too. Oh, and especially Hamilton. I can't imagine how busted up inside he must be.. i know i would be if it was me who threw that ball. Just horrible luck.

I feel really bad for his kid :(

Josh Hamilton must feel terrible also.

He was conscious after falling. He suffered a massive heart attack in the ambulance en route to the hospital is what I heard.

Terrible shame. I saw it on the news this morning.

It's times like this, I am very happy with the new Rangers ownership. I know they were step up here and do what is right for his family.

I will do my part and purchase some new Rangers gear. I'm sure there will be a place to donate the their family also.

Aside from the tragedy last night, it seems Holland pitched a complete game shutout. Nice.

Yep, a 4-hit complete game shutout. And he sure needed it to try to save his job from what they were saying on 1310 yesterday before the game.

Derek is going to have to string together another couple of good outings if he wants to save his job in the rotation.

Holland and Harrison are just so hit and miss sometimes. I believe both have huge potential, just waiting for them to be consistent.

fyi,

The widow of the guy (Shannon Stone) that died last night at the Texas ballgame asked Nolan Ryan to do something about the video of her husband falling, and Nolan has asked that it not be shown.

a few photos I took at Rangers Ballpark last night. I was in the right field upper deck. A few thoughts:

* Pretty easy to drive to. Was able to park for $9, just a two block walk away

* Over 100 F...went all the way down to 94 F by end of game!

* Not a single beer man served the upper deck from what I saw. Everything BUT beer. Had to go to concourse for beer....but...

* Only like one concession open a walk away in our part of the upper deck...many closed

* I liked the girls twirling the Texas flags after every score :)

* I got carded for the first time in like 20 years! I gave the guy a nice tip :D
