Texas vs Nebraska

Why didnt we run Cody Johnson more? I think his power could have been of more use to us against that Nebraska DL, especially since they used minimal LBs.

Our OL sucked. They rushed 3 or 4 most of the game, and just totally abused us. Suh was beating double and triple teams all night. Almost everytime Colt dropped back to pass, there were 2 or 3 red shirts in the backfield before he could blink. On running downs, Newton couldnt get anywhere, cause we couldnt run block either. It didnt help that Davis called a horrible game. Kirkendall dropped an almost sure TD, or at least a really long pass. Then Buckner let that DB steal the ball from him.

As great as our D played, our O was the polar opposite.

BTW, why did the refs call Goodwin down at the 1 on that KO? He never had control of the ball.....I feel that was a horrible call and almost very costly.

Nebraska got hosed on that first PI call.....the ball wasn't catchable and Williams stopped on the route. Now, illegal contact would have been a reasonable call.

The ball never hit the ground so it can't be a fumble.

it doesnt have to hit the ground to be a fumble.

if u are running down the field and i come up and take the ball from you.....then you will be charged with a fumble.


also, if you toss a lateral and run into the backfield and intercept it.....it is a fumble recovery, since the ball was thrown backwards.

I'm a Texas fan, but they are my #2 team. TCU is my first team. Texas doesn't deserve to go to the Championship game. They *should* have crushed Nebraska. They play like they did, they are going to get throttled by Alabama.

TCU has a better defense and probably just as good of an offense. (better running game)

I think TCU would have a better shot at Alabama than Texas. McCoy almost made a TCU vs Alabama match up possible!

All I said was, that was what cost Neb. the game. More of Neb. lost the game, than Texas won the game. Even Texas homers should admit that tonight

Greg Davis has a month to remedy the deficiencies in this offense. Obviously, we can't (and shouldn't) scrap the spread. But, we should consider running more plays from under center; it would benefit the running game, in my opinion.

Colt is not garbage. That's just you hating. I am the last person to want to defend Texas but Colt is a very talented QB. He is more of a QB than Tebone will ever be or your SUC QB back there in LA.

exactly, like i said before, this was texas' worst game and its not any worse than games alabama had vs tennesse AT HOME!! or florida had vs arkansas where they should have lost

On the other hand, I don't think there is a single person on the Longhorns that I would want Dallas to draft. Maybe the one DB that shows some promise, but that's it.

Get the greatest QB to ever play the game, put him in Colt's place tonight and his numbers would also be crappy. Sorry, but Colt didn't play bad tonight, the Texas' OL did. NO QB could "Shine" with that kind of OL play.

Mack Brown seems like a very nice guy and is a great recruiter, but when it comes to actual coaching, there's just an ocean of difference between him and the guy who's going t be across the field from him in the Nat Champ game.

Giving Saban a month to prepare for a game is almost not fair.

Their Oline played pretty bad, but some of those plays were Colt holding onto the ball too long. The INT weren't the Oline's fault.

Take the orange glasses off - Colt was not a top QB tonight. Now most the time, the kid is great - but not tonight.

Texas is 8-1 vs Nebraska since the Big 12 formed. Only twice have the games been somewhat blowouts (bold)

As a Texas homer, my heart says Texas should dominate the Huskers.....but my mind says, no way. It will be a dogfight almost every single time.

Also, my concerns about the Texas OL and their poor blocking this year were realized tonight. Suh and the blackshirts dominated the LOS. In fact, both DLs dominated the LOS. Neither offense could get in sync or find any sort of rhythm.

One last thing, Nebraska was ranked 22 in the nation, so it isn't like they were a pushover. They choked away the Virginia Tech and Iowa St. games or else they would have been ranked probably in the top 10 before tonight's game.
