There's a difference between Vince Young and Colt McCoy. I didn't see the game tonight, so I can't comment on Colt's performance, but Vince was a much better qb IMO.

wrong.....Vince is nowhere near the QB Colt is. Vince, however, is a far superior athlete than Colt......plus, Vince had a better OL and running game than Colt.

Colt has better receivers and a better defense.

I am still stunned about the clock mismanagement by Colt you would think he was a freshman instead of a senior. I think Texas will have trouble with Alabama. They are basically Nebraska on steroids. Texas doesn't run the ball well enough and Bama's D is going to look at what comprable teams like OU and Nebraska have done to shut them down and Bama's offense is pretty physical. There's really no teams in the Big 12 that could test Texas as much as Bama will.

Bama will be tough, but Cody isnt as tenacious as Suh. He penetrates and stuffs the run, but does not cause all out chaos the way Suh does.

Honestly, Suh reminded me of Russell Maryland back in the early 90s, when Texas got raped by the Hurricanes, 45-3. Maryland completely owned the LOS that day, the way Suh did tonight.

i agree, you wouldnt expect that from a senior quarterback with the most wins in college football history! i was stunned, i was certain time had run out, but the clock ESPN was using was a second ahead of the official clock. i slightly disagree with your analysis of bama though. I dont think their D is as good as Nebraska's, their D is DISGURSTING!! i do think they have a much better running game and obviously a more competent QB than Nebraska though. It will be a good game, i just hope the good colt shows up for that one

the players always win the games, not the coaches.....all the coaches do is put the players in the best position to succeed.

crack on Mack all you want, but he is the winningest coach in the nation since coming to Texas. He has a National Championship, 2 Big 12 Championships, and has led his team to 5 consecutive Bowl victories.

But yes, he is a horrible coach.

Dear LORD - nobody is saying he is a terrible coach. In fact, he's one of the best - but his strengths are recruiting and being a guy who his players will run through walls for - not his strategic coaching ability.

And in college football - recruiting make teams. When you consistently have top recruiting classes - YOU SHOULD win a lot of games.

Now a great coach - put him in the NFL and have him win games against a salary cap. Put him at a school that doesn't have the most money in college football, put him back at NC and have him in the national title picture. I don't see anybody screaming for Mack to come coach for them in the NFL. It's not hateorade - it's just saying he fits the college system, but saying they have won because of his coaching ability is a little homeristic. (pretty sure I just made that word up!!! )

Mack lets Davis run the offense and Muschamp run the defense....similar to how Jimmy did with Norv and Wanny. Mack motivates and brings the team together. He pushes them to excel. So to say he isn't a great coach is a pure traveshamockery.

You must have missed that part in my post where I said he is one of the best - and then went on to pretty much say what you just said regarding his motivational ability.

i agree that Mack's strengths are recruiting and a motivator. But i think Mack always has surrounded himself with great coordinators, specially on defense, to do the X's and O's.

i guess you have to think that way, its the only way to forget the cavs miseries, since they are only in the present for a couple of days huh? the spurs run might be over, but at least we got 4 rings and a lot of great MEMORIES to go with them. as for the cavs? they prob wont win anything this year and Lebroom will be gone!!!

Why is anyone a Lebron fan. He is nothing more than an overhyped, whine machine. If he doesn't get his way, he pouts, sulks, and acts like a total poor sport. He is such a tool.

Bash Duncan all you want.....but the guy is greatness and class personified. The NBA will suffer when he retires, just as it did when David retired.

if I was UT I be ashamed to play in the championship game - only to score 10 points on Neb in 3 quarters

Iowa State scored more

Oklahoma wasn't ashamed to play in the NC game after losing to UT...

Why should UT be ashamed?

Lebron is what is wrong with the NBA these days, and Duncan (besides his whining for calls) is what used to be right with the NBA.

Oh, and I hate the Spurs with a passion - but would take Duncan on my team any day.

I'm a Texas fan, but they are my #2 team. TCU is my first team. Texas doesn't deserve to go to the Championship game. They *should* have crushed Nebraska. They play like they did, they are going to get throttled by Alabama.

TCU has a better defense and probably just as good of an offense. (better running game)

I think TCU would have a better shot at Alabama than Texas. McCoy almost made a TCU vs Alabama match up possible!

I'm niot sure ANY team would beat TCU...

Until we get a playoff, the TCU's will be screwed...

We all watched the refs rob LSU in the LSU/Alabama game... the SEC wants a player in that game...

Mack Brown seems like a very nice guy and is a great recruiter, but when it comes to actual coaching, there's just an ocean of difference between him and the guy who's going t be across the field from him in the Nat Champ game.

Giving Saban a month to prepare for a game is almost not fair.

That's what they said in 2005...

Bama is more phsyical on both sides of the ball. Nebraska is pretty physical on that like but I think the DBs and LBs for Alabama are both more physical than Nebraska.

TCU and Cincy both deserve a shot but we know they won't get it. TCU may be the best team in the country right now. They held a really good Clemson offense to 10 points on the road. And they pretty much killed everyone else on their schedule. It'll still be Texas vs Bama in that game. If Texas had a great run game I would give them a shot but Texas just has no run game. And Bama is completely different on offense from anyone Texas has played this year. The closest team in the Big 12 to their style is probably Kansas State.
