funny (not really) you mention that. I was a GROZ fan and it seems he was not the problem at all. Our defense is still suspect.

I was however a Payton (and Sporano) fan and hoped we would keep them around but instead they were jettisoned.

I'm not sure Garrett is the real problem here

I liked Payton but was never a fan of Sporano. He was one of the rare coaches that is actually a better HC then position coach.

Getting rid of Wade isn't gonna make a bit of difference. We have one constant around here that can't be fixed. Jerry pampers players and can't get his head out of his *** on personnel moves. Every time he starts to get my respect, he loses it quickly w/ bone headed trades like Roy Williams. He has had a plethora of quality coaches right under his nose and just failed to see it. I think I would let Jason Garrett coach this team and if for one reason. If he goes to another team and is a success, I think I'm gonna go postal. To think we could be doing this w/ Garrett as the head coach and Capers on defense. That ain't happening now.

i lived for 10 years in Denver and there is 1 and only 1 reason that Shanahan found his way to a super bowl. He found a hole in the NFL rules and created a blocking scheme that injured many - many NFL players. After the rule was changed Shanahan never did a thing. He got way too much credit for way too little. I would guanantee 3 or 4, 9-7 seasons or worse with Shanahan here. Please Shanahan's best days are long past him. Elway would not have a ring on his finger, but for that blocking scheme and 2 good years from RB Terrell Davis. In fact I think TD would have been a 6 on a 10 scale RB without the blocking scheme.

I disagree, you are giving a HOF QB too little credit

But - now that you mention it, maybe we could hire Shanny to team the OL how to block? :)

Jimmy isn't coming back. He enjoys fishing 5 days a week too much. Plus he was terrible in Miami. He can't coach with a salary cap.

Not me.

I've been driving the DeCamillis train, but Garrett would work for me, too.

ANY coach out there is an upgrade from Wade. Even Tecmo because then that ivy-league-moron would have to bring in help with offense and no doubt playcalling.

Cowher is the best hire by 10x. He could be one of the few guys who could right this sinking ship.

Shanahan would be typical jerry safe hire. A lot of hype but little substance. He's old and imho has done NOTHING without Elway? (and not really enough with Elway to be honest).

Chucky would be a better hire as that means jason is tossed to the curb with wade (where both belong).

But lets all get real....

Jason will be our next HC (he's already paid like one)

Only if you want 30 flags a game, because he didn't do jack on offense after the NFL Rule was changed and enforced. His blocking scheme only lost him games after the rule was changed. What is Shanny's record in the last 6 or 7 years?

You had me till that last part. Though I would prefer Garrett over Cowher, Gruden or Holmgrem. Matter of fact if Garret will promise to bring in a decent OC I am all for him trying to be HC. So maybe we do agree.

Anyone with fire in his belly would be better than Wade... I would even take Zorn over Wade any day of the week...

My leading candidates would be Shannahan or Holmgren.

I don't care for Gruden and Tomlin has shown it is the system in Pitt not the coach.

The OC would be running is offense and Garrett would still probably call the plays.

Im fine with that. I think you get an OC with a bit more experience in here to help Garrett out a bit and he learns some things.
