The analysts pumping him tend to be ex-players just rooting for their brethren to get paid. It's like an ex-jocks/ members only club. Nobody touting him ever mentions his 2-5 playoff record, abundance of talent around him, or his propensity to melt in the spotlight. No QB in the NFL has done less with more than Dak. Sure he once showed potential and his contract the first 4 years enabled the team to build around him, but he was never able to do anything with it. We now know what kind of QB he is and it is not good enough for the Dallas Cowboys. The turd of a game he laid against GB in that home playoff loss this past January was the final nail.
It was the final nail for some fans . Will it be for our ownership . The verdict is still out.

And while I’d agree we haven’t had a QB this era which measures up to the standard from our glory eras , I’d argue we haven’t had a team which measures up to it as well.

It’s a double whammy of sorts . And it’s all on this dysfunctional ownership this era.

Success in the NFL starts with the QB. If you pay that position and can't win, it's almost impossible. Dak has had an OL stuffed with pro bowlers and future HOFers. He had Zeke in his prime with a cast of ball catchers. He's never been able to play well enough in the big moments. He's literally the antithesis of Aikman.

Sure, Jerry is the connecting thread that links 28 years of futility. But, you can't blame Jerry for Dak melting against GB and shrinking in the spotlight. That's not on Jerry.

Well, we can blame our leadership if they have over evaluated and over valued our QB.

Many fans have witnessed his weaknesses and vulnerabilities basically from the end of his Rookie season. But not our owners,

You know this is it right? The last season of Dak in Dallas?

All of this fussing, arguing, and back and forth just to be on the losing end when all is said and done.
Shouldn’t the team just move on from Dak now? Or if they’d rather pay him $29 million than suffer cap ramifications involved in releasing him, just make Lance the starter?

We’ll see what our ownership ultimately does. They’ve over evaluated and over valued him since his Rookie season.

Shocker.......Go to any NFL forum with 3 straight 12 Win seasons and Hate on the QB1....

Dak Haters are vermins that have been allowed to culture in a winning environment....only 1 team wins the Superbowl
Going into Daks 9th year and he hasn't been close to a superbowl. He chokes in the playoffs. The goal is the Superbowl and Dak isn't leading this team to one. If your happy with 12 wins with a one and done then good for you.

So our option is to hype a player in Trey Lance that was cut by a better team in hopes of replacing an MVP Runner Up QB....

Dak Haters aren't thinking folks :lmao2:

If Cowboys don’t have a deal signed within 16 days, the beginning of regular season, by most estimations this will be his last season in Dallas.

I know many fans feel he’ll be playing this season for a new contract but most accounts are if he needs to prove more to the Cowboys Mgmt he’d rather move on.

And most critics and analysts would argue he will be highly sought after despite some fans and detractors who cast him off as damaged goods , a less than franchise QB. Just too much demand for QB’s in the NFL.

I’m not advocating for resigning him but simply pointing out what the altercations and impacts could be . We shall know soon what the direction is for the Cowboys moving forward . And that decision could very well derail hopes this season will be more than a dumpster fire and potential disaster with a lame duck HC and QB which presents so much uncertainty. We’ll need an extra bag of popcorn:)
The clock is ticking on GM Jethro.

No, the option is to draft a QB higher than the 4th round. The Cowboys need to realize the team has done the best they are going to do with Dak.

Yes, because drafting above the 4th round is a guarantee. Ask the Niners how that worked out.

Top 3 pick - Fail

Mr. Irrelevant - Win

GM Jethro can not build a complimentary football team. V

The only way he gets a new deal is if on December 1st he has 10 wins and is playing at an mvp level
He could throw for 50 TDs and 9 ints, rush for 11 more scores in the Regular Season...

Then throw for 750 yards and 5 TD's @ SF in the 1st playoff game- and I'd STILL hold off.

NFC Title Game appearance, AND be NOT be the reason the team loses.

Or goodbye and good luck.

I am not sure Dak even wants to be a part of Jerry's Circus anymore. If it is strictly about money, then there is no reason for Dak to sign at all. He can alway wait, test the FA market, and then still sign in Dallas if he chooses to.

If Dak gets, and he will, more money from another team, or adequate money with a better franchise positioned to win, why would he stay in Dallas?
