I wasn't that excited about this in the first place. He could have helped us for one year maybe but he was a stop gap at best.

I would rather know what we have in the younger guys and address the interior next off season.

I agree with you.

So, back to where we were at this time yesterday. I don't know about Waters at this point honestly, 36 is pretty geriatric in the NFL. Has he kept himself in football shape?

Maybe Berny or Arkin just need to step up and earn their paycheck.

You guys don't seem to mind just throwing away seasons to get to the next year. This OL has needed proper addressing for a long while now. Sure, it was a stop gap, but it's one that we'll likely need if we want to keep Romo upright this year.

Well I'm not going to lose perspective over not being able to bring in an unmotivated 33-yo guard.

Bern or Arkin at LG and I still think this offensive line is going to be better than it was in 2012.

Is Brian Waters still interested? We're trying to give someone over a million dollars for about seven months of work. You'd think someone would take it.

The problem is these guys "expect" a whole lot more. According to Broaddus Moore was asking for 4 million around the league before this original agreement was made for 2.

I bet he is on his way to Dallas by tomorrow. Jerry and Callahan will sell him and it's usually the family members that tell him it's okay to go.

That would be the absolutely worst thing to do.

Either he wants to play or he does not. Jones or Callahan should not have to talk him into it. He has already indicated by his actions that he is not truly committed to playing. Just move on.

They should take this blessing and run with it. Better he let them know now rather than make the 53 and then his salary is guaranteed.

I'm affraid the Cowboys would rather have Costa on the field over Bern and they would move Frederick to guard.

Frederick looked bad at guard the other night so I hope this isn't the case.

The point here is that the front office has already given both a vote of no confidence.

I hate to go after Waters who is a whole year removed and probably out of shape, but if the "desperate" mindset is around, something has to be done rather than just pretend it never happened.

Couldn't be worse then anything else we're throwing out there.

I'd imagine he would still end up playing like a top 32 guard in this league. Can't say Bern or Arkin could match that.

What makes you say that? i.e. about wanting Costa on the field over Arkin or Bern at RG?

It doesn't matter if they do or do not have confidence in Bern/Arkin or whomever is on the roster for the RG spot.

The roster is what it is and if no one better is available then they use who they already have on the roster.

I'm not sold on bringing in Waters... 36yo... out of football for well over a year now... It's not a "gimmee".

After hearing all the scouting reports on this guy, is anyone really THAT upset about this. It's not like we just lost out on Carl Nicks guys.

Just a feeling. I don't think there is any coincedence they have him playing some guard and I also think the Moore signing was made to ensure he stay at center.

He signs, collects his guaranteed bonus and retires. :D

he won't get his pay. but you have to respect a player who seen he did'nt have his heart in it and rather than just taking a paycheck, he retires
