What a gut punch. Really thought this signing would be a difference between a bad oline to a good one. They really need to address it again. Perhaps Waters?

Haha really? I love Moore, but let's not overstate the situation.

Is there anyone out there that we could make a trade for?

I guess at this point we're just better off waiting to see if a Vet gets cut.

Take a look at the depth charts around the league at the position. If you see someone worth it, it would be news to me.

he won't get his pay. but you have to respect a player who seen he did'nt have his heart in it and rather than just taking a paycheck, he retires

I was kidding about collecting his bonus but I do agree with you about admiring his decision to place the comfort of his family first. Money does not always talk.

You have a link for that figure of 1.5 mil?

Just think about it for two seconds: dude is 3 years older than Moore, is considered a step down from Moore, and was apparently the Cowboys' second option.

Since Moore was going to come in for 2M, I'd bet $100 we could snag Waters for 1.5 pretty easily.

The price just went up.

Sorry.

But unless you have better info I don't think the $1.5 mil figure is relevent.

Maybe not, if I have to throw more money to keep a guy from retiring maybe it is not a good idea to get that player. Last thing we need is a guy who is mentally retired collecting a paycheck. If Waters wants to play he will if all he wants is a pay check them let him retire.

Great.. Hopefully Waters is still interested.

Can't believe Moore wants to call it quits at 33. What is he thinking? He's got the rest of the life to be retired he should be collecting as many paychecks as he can.
I agree, $2 million a lot to leave for 6 months work

Waters doesn't want to be in training camp. That is why he didn't come back to the Pats last year.

He just wants to play regular season games.

He's the type of guy they might offer after Week 1 so they don't have to guarantee his salary for the season.

He lives in the Dallas area.

Sorry in my view if you want to play then get out here. If Dallas has to sweeten the pot for a player on the downside of his career so he does not retire then I would not do it. Guys need camp and I'm tired of guys who are just looking for a payday. Just my view

unfreakingbelievable, from a great day to a crap day in the blink of an eye!

Big time, people can play down his ability all they want, but he was veteran dept that would have a the very least pushed people into sinking or swimming. Bizarre to see posters that seem to be happy about this and the current situation.
