The opening drive was earily similar to the one against GB last year, at GB, when we went down the field in like a minute, but Butler caught the TD.

Very impressive stuff folks. But Steve Spagnolo and company will have a lot to say about that in a couple of weeks.

Run game looked good without Zeke, but Mcfadden seems to run with his eyes closed once he finds the hole. No vision or cutting ability. Zeke turns those 5 yard runs into big plays. Mcfadden is a get whats there type of runner, put his head down and try to get a extra yard or two. Morris and Smith actually runs with better vision. Oh and that fumble in the redzone is what loses games. That was atleast 3 points right there.

Zeke turns those 8-12 yard runs into15-20 yard runs.
In Zeke's first season he averaged 5.1 ypc. Mcfadden's last full season he was at 4.6 ypc.

We're pretending that Zeke is Sanders and Mcfadden and co are udfas now?

Anyone giddy about what you saw in our first possession? I am.
Here's what I saw:

1. Dak passing with no runningback deep in enemy territory.
2. Spread offense with 5 receivers.
3. Dez running a simple slant to get us out of the hole.
4. Hurry up offense. When did we ever see that on our first possession?
5. Our run game up the middle was devastating. It won't matter who runs the ball.
6. Dak's poise is unbelievable. Its better than last years.
7. Dak's arm seems stronger and has better accuracy.
8. Dak's checkdown technique reminds me of Aikman's.
9. We might come to realize we are a better passing team than most will want to admit. Thanks for the suspension Mr. Goddell.

Hope we keep it even during the season.

You had me until #9. ____ the Commish.

Every time I see Dak out there, it's somewhat surreal. Deep down, I'm still sort of concerned that he will falter somehow, but it's just not happening. He just looks so calm out there, as if his offensive line is the US army protecting us against Peru.

Half a yard is a decent spread at this level. Half a yard more for Zeke and he's with the best of al time in ypc.

Let's not forget td's and gamebreaking plays.

I agree with your thoughts
One caveat is that tuning inside on the Giants and Eagles will be FAR more difficult and they will put much more pressure on Dak than the Colts

Yes Giants and Eagles will be harder. But it seems we might not have to be more reliant on the run and become less predictable. We could play a spread offense and force the defense to play wide. Thus less chances of them blitzing and forcing man to man coverage.
