Lets just be happy that Garrett and his finesse type offense is gone. This is the affect that MM has had on the offense. Getting back to running the ball and getting the pieces we need to do it. It wasnt just the Oline that had played bad the last few years, it was the TE's.
Finesse looks good but doesn't hold up in the playoffs. Winning in the trenches does, that's why I feel this team is trending upwards. Both our lines have improved from last year and they're both young lines, with the exception of Martin.

Most people agree that Zeke should have never been signed to that 2nd contract. I agree with you that this would qualify as a bust.
What? Nobody said don’t sign Zeke to a second deal lol…and since when is “everybody” a reliable source for what’s good or bad lol?

Hell yah, most fans agree that signing Zeke to that extension was a big mistake.

What about you? Do you think resigning Zeke to that 90 million was the right thing to do?

Say what you want. You could argue they didn't land Cade Otton, or whatever. But I think they still played it nicely. After the draft, I watched lots of film on our players, and I suspected shortly after we drafted Ferguson, then landed Hendershot, that we would be a really good 12 personnel team, as well as 13 personnel in 2023.

I know the stats aren't all that pretty. But these guys are helping our team win games. It's the little things they can all do, including the fact they can be a threat in the passing game, that makes them valuable. I've always thought that TEs make great special teams guys, and playing special teams can teach them things like blocking, so it's a win win.

In any case, what I would like to see Dallas do throughout the remainder of the season is get their TEs more involved in the passing game, as well as blocking game. That should be part of their game-time agenda moving forward during practice is to scheme around their TEs. If they do that, they'll be a tougher team for it in the post season.

I think this holds true for the remainder of the team, not just the TEs. If you know where your weaknesses are, then you should make it a point to work on those weaknesses during the games when it makes sense to work on those areas. Doing that, also makes you less predictable.

You can actually scheme around how to NOT be predictable. And still run some high-percentage plays on which you could convert on as much as the obvious ones. It's really about thinking ahead.

In the past, our coaches and staff haven't done much of that. But this year, you can see they've done some behind the scenes work to get better at it, and them being willing to listen to others has paid off.

Our TE group is why I think we have a good shot moving forward. None all too flashy, but they are all solid weapons. And we have four of them.
I think MM has really played an important role in all of this. All phases of the team have showed improvement and more importantly in game adjustments.

Hear hear.

MM has put this together. He's done a whale of a job. First time in forever that we actually traded for a starting quality NT. And he was effective.

That has nothing to do w/ it. It's about fitting more quality players under the cap.

Why in the world would you think it's about Jerry's personal wallet? That makes no sense.
Because anyone that has been paying attention knows Jerry signs who he wants. He only signs his own free agents. They had 20 million in cap space and did nothing. So what do they need more money for? Just to give it to guys like La’el Collins and Jaylon Smith? That’s why I said I don’t care about his pocket.

McKeon played 24% of snaps as the 4th TE in the Bears game. They used 4 TE sets on short yardage plays. McKeon with a few snaps at Fullback.

I expected Ferguson to be a "ready now" type rookie. I didn't and still don't know his exact upside but he was a safe bet to contribute.

Hendershot has been the big surprise. He plays with an aggressive attitude.

Too bad they did not trust him to nail it and payed Schultz 11 million dollars to be average and injured.
That was a good decision because it means they did NOT give Schultz a new contract.

They needed a veteran TE to bridge the gap. Too sign a decent free agent TE would have required a multiyear contract. If they cut that player after 1 year, it would cost more than the tag for Schultz.

It's not his pocket, that's what I'm trying to tell you. There's a salary minimum, and that money has to be spent. The 20 mil is rolled over into the next offseason, where we'll use it to pay Diggs and others.

Let me try again. This has absolutely nothing to do w/ Jerry's personal finances.

I cannot comprehend those who think tagging Schultz was a bad idea. It was a great move, using the franchise tag as it's meant to be used.

Lol they nailed average tight ends??? No1 here is a kittle, kelce, hell even a dallas goedert. Tight end is a group of jags

Shultz had a better year last year than Kittle or Goedert catching the ball. The young rookies are dual threat blockers. They have been a big part of the run game success.
