If you want to see 8-9 in the box all season and the Cowboys scoring 28 points or less all year, then play Dak. Because that's what teams are going to do. They will not let Zeke and the o-line control the game.

Opposing defense's are playing it exactly the way they should be playing it. And Prescott is doing his part to win the games with what he's given. You and I both know he did everything he needed to do in week one for a win. He can't throw the ball and catch it too.mif his veteran receivers do their part, this team scores touchdowns, not field goals and the team wins in a blowout.

If Cousins was anything, Dallas would have lost by 20 points yesterday. Be honest. He missed 3-4 receivers wide open for touchdowns.

Unlike some other fans, I will absolutely concede that fact. But that's the defense's issue, not Prescott's.

Put Tony in, and the offense changes. A healthy Romo would have won the Giants game handily and put up 40+ yesterday. Zeke would have run wild yesterday, and much better in Week 1.

"A healthy Romo", that's like seeing a UFO or Bigfoot at this point. Let's face facts. Even in the few games he did play last year, Romo wasn't the 'Romo of old'. Instead, he was 'old Romo'. And now, that fact looks even worse. To hand him anything back and risk halting this young man's momentum is foolish in my opinion. The money is the money, that's not changing. But relying on the unreliable can and should change.

In time, Dak will provide the same. But that takes time.

He's undeniably done enough for this team to be 2-0, and that's all any of us can or should ask.

How does Dak doesn´t need a mentor? he cant even operate 100% of the playbook right now. He can´t audible out of a 8 man box. Give him time behind Romo and you will see the best of Prescott.
Yep

Look at Romo in 2014 versus Romo in 2008.

Now project Dak the same.

Both were amazing in their first starts, but limited. Time will take away those limitations.

That is what coaches are for. Romo will only stand in his way as a progress stopper. Unless Romo is going to stick around as the backup QB going forward.

He cant audible? You havent been watching the games. Dak has been doing it all and commanding and changing the plays all over the place.

This argument is pointless...when Romo is healthy he's back as the starter whether some like it or not.

I'm happy that Dak looks like the real deal but he still has a lot of work to do before he's Romo's equal.

And when is that exactly? When is "Romo healthy"? Didn't everybody think that the last time he was injured? And the time before that? And the time before that?

The fact is that the words "Romo" and "healthy" don't belong in the same sentence anymore because it doesn't exist.

Dak is better his first year than Romo was in his 4th year. No comparison. Dak know how to throw the ball away. Romo still hasnt learned that.

And Prescott has done his part to have this team 2-0 and rolling.

This isn't "Tony Romo's team". He shouldn't simply be handed the keys back based on his performances that occurred over two years ago, while ignoring the fact that he's now missed significant time three times in the past year.

If this team has its' future - and all indicators are that it does - they should stick with that future and be thrilled at their good fortune. But to simply turn around and hand the job back to Romo doesn't show a whole lot of long-term thinking.
Yeah, you're just not that smart are you? We stick with Romo when he's healthy because he gives us the best chance to win the division this year. Dak has played well and I'm thrilled with him, but Romo is the starter right now. End of story.

The best thing for Jones would be to trade Romo in the off season. Not sure of the salary cap ramifications of that or if it even makes sense there. But if it could open up the salary cap and help fix this defense it would be the quickest way to contender status again.

To who? While Romo is still a starter in the league, he's been injured a lot lately and has a big cap hit.
If they want to move on, post June 1st cut.

I will say I would start Romo when he is as healthy as he'll get. Whether he decides to play every snap like the game depended on it will determine how soon Dak comes back in.

I never said Dak gave us a better chance to win now. Never said it and never implied it.
Then you are wrong for wanting him over Romo. I'm interested in winning the division THIS year and going to the playoffs. Dak has played well and his time will come.

Is Romo a better QB than Dak at this point? Yes! But I can see teams blitizing Romo until he cries Uncle when he returns. I just hope Dak continues to get better and does not get discouraged when the politics of this business rear their ugly heads.

If Romo is the better player than putting him back in is not politics. It's just acknowledging reality. You play the guy who gives you the best chance to win, to suggest that it's politics makes it sound like Romo would be playing for some other reason.

Ah, someone that can disagree with class. Nicely done.

Maybe I just know a great young QB when I see one where others aren't sure yet.

I dont think you realize how lucky we are. If it weren't for finding Dak how long might it have been while we wallowed in mediocrity trying to find one? I had no faith in management. Whether they got lucky or it was good drafting, this kid is special.

So what is it that sounds crazy to you?

Im baffled you arent jumping out of the building over this kid.
I really do realize how lucky we are.
I can't believe our good fortune, actually.
The long term benefits should be enormous.

Where we disagree is that you think "Dak needs to be the full time guy immediately...just boot that scrub Romo to the curb. Dak is fully ready to roll!" or something like that.
That is where we disagree.

Its funn......................the REALITY of the situation is that "this is all pointless". This is Dak's team until Romo can prove he is healthy.

right now, Dak gives us the best chance to win. Seeing as though Romo has a broken back.

You might want to put that part in quotes so people don't think it's you saying it.

Everyone keeps talking about who is ready to win now. Uhhh dak because he is not injured. Romo has been great for the cowboys but it's over IMO. I'm sure all of us would love to see romo win the superbowl.

I remember after the 49ers game two years ago everyone doing the same thing.

Romo's done blah blah blah.

I've learned not to count him out. I say he's earned another shot on the field. But that's just me.
