The Garrett bashing is trite, tired, and lacking in truth

Today goes back to my post last week. I'm not sure if it JG or Linehan but we are at a point where game managing doesn't matter. We have nothing to lose going deep, airing it out, using trickery, etc. Instead we hoped leaving the D on the field 90% of the game and averaging 4 yards a throw was the way to get them.

But what if there's an interception! Lolz

No risk no reward. We deserve a 3 loss streak for taking negative risks (if that's mathematically possible)

Exactly! I'd rather go deep 5 times or throw a 25 yard post and get an interception than see is punt on 3 underneath routes. You have zero to lose!!!!

Blind.

It's not about blaming Garrett for the loss.

It's about blaming Garrett for the plan and adjustments.

4th and 1 vs the pats? Go for it

Inside the 10 yard line and 4th down? Go for it.

Onside kick coming out of the half.

Play action on 1st and don't go spread offense telling them "oh we are finally not running but we are 100% throwing"

This plan and adjustments required zero thought and an IQ of about 8

So basically, you're saying he should develop a scheme or gameplan that makes sucky players succeed?

Sorry...I'm beyond frustrated....I said since day 1 that JG was going to be a sorry crap HC.

Shoot I've been rocking my sig image discussing Garrett's ineptitude for years now.

And I blame him for singlehandedly ruining Tony and Jason's careers and that beyond pisses me off because those are some good, smart and hardworking guys who deserve better than JG and his blatant stupidity.

He should develop something to show he pulled out all the stops to do the best he could. The EXACT same thing as always tells me he copy and pasted and phoned it in. This tells me he is expecting and OK with losing.

In a word: unacceptable

I would love to move on from Garrett but it just won't happen under JJ. For me, most of my dismay with our coach is that as a lifetime fan of my team, I have never wanted to settle for mediocre but our head coach is the personification of mediocrity. When did it become acceptable to be average? I believe what has in the past defined the Cowboys has been compromised. Excellence and dictating to the rest of the league our identity is these years more of a fumbling in the dark stab at catching lightning in a bottle year after year. We will have a good year here and there but it feels like 8-8 is home base. Injuries happen but most of the impactful injuries are predictable so to not be able to overcome them is on coach and those in player acquisition.

He seems to get a lot of excuses. Rob Ryan didn't get that much slack, when he had Brady Popenga starting as his MLB.

Brandon Weeden sucks, so he's simplified the offense. We're short on WRs and missing a good RB in Dunbar. JG isn't just sitting there doing nothing, but he is limited in what he can do because of the injuries we've sustained.

I don't think randomly taking shots deep for no reason and trying to fake out the Patriots was going to win this game, honestly. I'm not a JG homer, but he doesn't have much to work with right now.

I agree completely and you can see that sort of acceptance of mediocrity spread through to so many of our fans now also which is truly sad.

We use to hold our same standards to that of the Pats these days where it was win or else. This mentality of failure and moral victories at the sake of being merely average is just sad and explains why we haven't really done much since 1996.

Yeah, we'll have an occasional good season and then it almost feels as if the minute we start tasting success we fall back into accepting mediocrity and ultimately fail.

What kind of reasoning is this? Who brought us Brandon Weeden? Two freaking years in a row. And Brad Johnson before that? I don't know why people are so quick to excuse Garrett for the players on the O side of the ball that came in under his tenure.
