The Garrett bashing is trite, tired, and lacking in truth

Got any examples of these teams that we able to keep winning despite losing multiple all-pro caliber skill players for an extended period of time?

Who said anything about giving up? I said that it isn't realistic to expect to win when we don't have Romo or Dez...especially when our backup is an utter nonentity

Uh-huh. NFL games are generally decided by playmakers. We just don't have any of those guys right now.

Buffalo is winning with a former bkup qb who never started until this year. Cleveland has won 2 games , one with manziel, one with Josh M. who
was a career bkup, and they also dont have their star WR.

No one expects the cowboys to be as good as they would be with romo and dez etc, but they do expect coaches to adjust to the situation,
not just keep "banging away" with same ol stuff like JG.
Also people were ok with giving weeden his chance , but right away we saw he wasnt going to win games , and rejoiced when they signed cassel,
but now they are going to stick with weeden ??
And they get CM, but only put him in game if it is 3rd and 1 lol and he only plays 1 play per game !! who does that ??
Do you think JG is smart doing that?
Would it hurt to come up with some new formations and plays??
last 2 games have been pathetic, not because they lost but how they look playing.
Today was 3 and out over and over, poor defense was back on field over and over, but JG says just keep banging away guys ! I will clap, you bang away . Then they watch the tape and get better , only they dont get better.

With a good HC, they could have won 2 of the last 3 games, or at least one. and looked better if they lost.

The season isn't on the line. We win that NY game, we're on top of the East with a season sweep of the Giants. If we lose, we're two games back with ten to go.

Have you watched the games the last three weeks?

We are no winning a single game with WeDone at QB and even with Cassel, maybe 1 or 2 tops. We are going to need Romo to run the table or at least go 5-1 down the stretch just to avoid a losing season.

If that happens, they need to build a statue of Romo outside the stadium.

That's like asking "why have one of those tiny little spare tires that are only intended to get you to the next gas station"?

Weeden was never intended to be anything more than a guy who could start a game or two in an emergency. Unfortunately it didn't work out that way, and we are paying the price.

Weeden is here for a game or two?

Bro, I don't know if you have been keeping up with current events but Weeden has lost his last 15 starts and that streak is going to be alive and well for the foreseeable future.

1 or 2 wins would be a miracle at this point, because we are winning Z-E-R-O games with him under center.

Yeah, I've watched them. Sounds like I remember them a bit better than you do.

There's no way of knowing how this team plays against this next run of teams coming out of the bye. Nobody we're playing has an offense like the Patriots just did. Give us McClain and Hardy, and do you really think either ATL or the Saints still beat us after what you saw today? How 'bout we throw in Gregory then? Or Dez?

The season's far from over. You've seen enough football to know that yourself if you can remember how it goes through your haze of anger right now. We're going to be a significant player in the East before it's all said and done if we don't keep losing starters. I have zero doubt of that, still.

One thing I have learned over the past few weeks....

Romo's on field intelligence greatly masks the deficiencies on the sidelines in the coaching ranks. Without him keeping these coaches honest, we are getting flat out smoked by more strategically thinking coaching staffs.

Painful.

That fact has been obvious all along IMO. The Garrett Apologists have always given Red a pass on that and have always come up with a myriad of excuses for him. One thing is clear tho, if its strategy we need to win a game, we are out of luck.

Banging away at the same ole stuff IS Garrett. It just worked last year so many thot the previous 3 1/2 yr track record somehow vanished into thin air and now, again, we got the Garrett Apologists all blaming WeedEater and the injuries and giving the classic "what could Red or anyone else do with the hand he's been dealt?" And then when somebody else mentions a lil adjustment, creativity, or strategy from the coaching stuff we get the "we dont have the talent to do that with the injuries."

And then the question is asked about all these years to build the depth on this great roster which somehow excused the 8-8, 8-8, 8-8, and trail of game day miscues and then we are told "they're just backups, we cant win with just those guys."

So if you're a Garrett Apologist, Garrett isnt to blame because nothing is ever his fault. Some have said Red could be President. I think I might believe that.

You mean like Green Bay 2007 when Favre got injured?

Maybe the 2008 patriots?

How about the current Colts the last 2 games?

Pit is competing without Ben right now.

Buffalo has a nobody at QB and tons of injuries

Shoot...didnt JG bus drive for an injured Aikman on some superbowl runs?

Bingo, thought so.

That's a lot of bull. No one expects your back-up QB to take you to a SB. I never expected to win every game. But I did expect to win a couple of games until Romo got back to give us a chance at the playoffs.

Weeden is completely inept. Utterly inept and it was painfully obvious. We got away with a half against Atlanta where he checked down to the RB's and they got a ton of yards after the catch. But real coaches adjust and you've seen the results for the 3rd straight games.

Back-up QB's have beat us with Dez and Romo here. We blamed the D. We lose without Dez and Romo and we blame the O and injuries. Damned if we do and damned if we don't. Meanwhile, other teams are at least competitive. Philly won some last year with their back-up QB (Sanchez). They won the year before that with their back-up QB (Foles). Austin Davis, an UFA, made a decent showing last year and he was cut this year. Josh McCown had a career day for the Browns in a win yesterday; the guy is basically a career back-up on his 7th team. The Red Headed dolt went 5 and 3 as in interim HC with a back-up QB. Our own franchise has won with Beuerlein, Kosar and Garrett. Folks act like this is some insurmountable obstacle. We just simply misjudged our back-up QB position....badly but we've done if before with a washed up Brad Johnson. At some point, this becomes inexcusable.

I see so many people stating they expected a couple of wins with Romo out...and so did I. But at this point...I am just hoping for a couple of first downs. Then a couple of scoring drives. And then...maybe...just maybe a couple of touchdowns. Then...and only then can we start think about winning a single game. It has gotten that bad...and that is not good. This is an organizational failure. This running game is not good enough. Weeden is not a nfl QB. And these receiving threats are barely nfl players. I understand Romo and Dez are pro bowl talents...so there would be a drop off. But nfl talent should at least be able to get a first down!

i got excited yesterday on like our 3rd or 4th 3-n-out when weeden threw the ball away instead of just getting plowed over

Brandon didn’t play well enough. We didn’t play well enough. It starts with protection and it starts with receivers and tight ends and backs winning on routes. - Cowboys coach Jason Garrett

Not once does he state anything about him doing a better job to put his players in a better position.

Eventually, he will need to say something to hold him and the staff accountable. This will not go over well if the losses continue.

Well good to see I am not alone n these thoughts !
In defense of this game, they were facing a god team with really good coaches, so they were outclassed.
This was good example of bellichek versus Garrett without Romo, and it was no contest.
The bright spot was hardy and the defense, which played good considering they got no help from their offense.

Garret just does not innovate or change, he just keeps doing the usual, so until Romo gets back it could be bleak, unless they change to cassel, Which
JG said he would consider lol.
NE had to fight for their early points, so the defense may help get a win or 2 of the offense can score some points.
Bad news is NE just showed other teams how to shut down dallas offense, Take away witten and the run and thats does the trick.

The media here never criticizes him for his obvious weakness in the X's and O's department.

It gets masked by incredible players but Jason Garretts lack of dynamics in our scheme really handicaps us.

He has no feel for the chess aspect of football. He can't play that game.

he never takes the blame himself, it is always the players didnt play well, and they need to watch the tape and get better and move forward.
Right now they are stacking losses instead of wins and it will continue, Giants are playing better, and are 3-2 and lead the division now so will play harder and be more motivated.
The skins and eagles are now tied with us at 2-3. I think we will be on the bottom by game 7 or 8
The skins are gaining confidence and gelling as a team, and the eagles are starting to figure things out and get better.
D. Murray 20 for 83 yds 4.2 svg 1 td in a win so this will give them confidence. They beat NO 39-17
