So learning how to read defenses, scheme and game plan from one of the best defensive coaches in history had no bearing on the success off Tom Brady? lol He wins 7 Super Bowls no matter where he goes? That seems like the gist of this ridiculous thread! I know playing sports as well as in school how important a great coach and teacher actually was. They were difference makers. Some seem very out of touch on this subject.

And now that he has a rookie QB he should still be winning Super Bowls?

I don't recall anyone picking NE to be super bowl contenders the past 2 seasons. lol. It really wasn't that hard to predict that it would take Bill time to get the team back to playoff caliber. They are basically rebuilding the offense from the ground up.

Only 1 playoff win in over 8 seasons without Brady.

Brady had game winning drives in the 4th quarter or overtime in all 6 of Bill’s Super Bowl wins.

The GOAT made him look good for 20 seasons.

yea, it proves exactly what Ive been saying for years. The majority of NFL coaches are all good. The great ones were lucky to have a HOF QB. Its that simple.

The one question I have is why Bill chose to go for a 56 yard FG in the rain on 4th and 3? When you know Brady will have around a minute left? It's not like the Patriots were having trouble moving the ball. The Bucs were. I figured they'd go for it, get it, and run down the clock and kick a last second FG. The only thing I can think of is that he didn't think Brady could move the ball into FG range. And I might agree with that. Brady was struggling that game.

He has one playoff win without Brady.

The Patriots were a losing franchise before Brady took over and they are a losing franchise as soon as he left.

You make it sound as if 11-5 with Matt Cassel was a huge accomplishment. It was 5 games worse than the previous season when they were 16-0.

Cassel also played the NFC west in 2008 which went 22-44, the worst division record in the history of the NFL. Those were 4 easy wins for the Patriots.

The 2008 Patriots under Cassel also failed to win the division or even make the playoffs, the only time that happened from 2003-2019. Without Brady they took a huge step back. And that team was loaded, except for QB. Don’t try and make it appear as if they were successful in Brady’s absence. Missing the playoffs is not a successful season.
