I do not see the confusion. We all love you. You demand our thoughts. We give them to you. What else can we do to prove our love?

Every answer you can think of is a 'hell no'.

I agree. They want to win, just not with anyone else calling the shots.
If that were true, wouldn't Jerry close the curtains?

I just don't think you can logically conclude that Jerry really cares about winning so long as the franchise is making lots of money.

I truly do believe that Jerry would only make an effort to change and win if money dried up.

Unfortunately, you are applying your logic (which I do not disagree with) to the sense of logic he follows. Jones' mindset is old school. He thinks players can perform well while blinded. And it is gravy if opponents are randomly blinded into making mistakes that benefits his team.

Yes. That's nuts but it is his contradictory logic.

It’s pretty ironic to hear a guy with a ‘job for life’ gifted to he and his son talk about other people being ‘motivated’ because they face an uncertain future.

Do people really believe that they don’t want to win. I can’t imagine that I think he dreams about it. It drives him crazy.
I believe he only wants to win his way, which has been shown to be the wrong way. See 10 years of Garrett! So if you break it down that equals not really wanting to win because he’s not taking logical steps

More of the same, this team will continue to be the most expensive garbage team in the world that pretends to be competent, boasting of the small achievements it can reach but that lives off the illusion of the garbage man of its incompetence that only reaches to create castles in the sky, this team lives in the utopian mind of rusty Jones,
As long as fans keep buying tickets to games, filling stadiums, buying souvenirs and giving them money, this trashy team will continue to increase in value. Fans will continue to be manipulated into consumerism and into increasing the wealth of rusty Jones, regardless of him winning games, since he continues to earn money and prestige. As long as fans don't give their ego a blow, let them see empty stadiums when they play at home, not buy more souvenirs or give them your money, they will simply continue to manipulate you.

I don't see the blinding sun as an advantage for either team, but he probably thinks it's "Advantage Cowboys", because they're 'used to it'.

IDK ......... Pure speculation here but I think we are about to see something major from them. Perhaps a major hire and/or some restructuring of the way they have done things. We can call Jerry many things but we can't deny he knows how to make money or protect investments. With that said, he's about to have THREE of the largest contracts at different positions ( Dak, Lamb and Parsons ). As with any businessman, you want an excellent return on your investment. This IMO this is the difference between now and a few years ago. Again, I could be wrong but I think he's about to do whatever is necessary to get the maximum return.

** Perhaps we could see a Parcell type of hire.
** We already know a new coach will need a new OC AND DC
** The new coach will have to hire an ENTIRE new staff of assistant coaches. When was the last time this happened since Jerry?
** Serious talk McClay may move on

I admit I can't think of any coaches Jerry may respect enough to give this kind of authority ( Saban, Carroll, Vrabel, Belichick ). Perhaps he knows someone available we have no clue about.
It doesn't matter who they hire if the players are the same.

Agree with all of that, although I’m not sure what you mean by “high priced acquisitions” after Jimmy left, other than Sanders of course, which was a no brainer, and one they don’t win XXX without IMO. Stephen was of course adamantly against it.

They used FA when Parcells was here, bringing in middle tier guys (Ferguson, Anderson, Glenn, Keyshawn, Rivera) that fit what BP wanted to do, and provided leadership. Some worked, some didn’t.

Even afterward, they still used FA to a point. TO, Leonard Davis and I’m sure one or two I’m forgetting.

Total busts, but they at least tried with Mackenzie Bernadeau and Nate Livings (how awful were they lol?).

Then Carr.
You mentioned a couple (Owens and Davis). Jerry also filled in for poor drafting with LaRoi Glover (five years, $22.5 million). Carr signed for five year, $50.10 million. Davis' contract was seven years, $49.6 million. Rivera's was five years, $20 million, so I don't think he was considered middle tier. Jerry used to see someone he wanted in free agency, bring them in and they wouldn't leave the building until he had them under contract. He filled holes, but he also created holes by neglecting the draft.

We've turned that around, and this way (draft well, use low-cost free agents) has worked just as poorly. What we've seen (and know) is that you have to use all aspects of team building to win championships. We did that when we built the 1990s teams, even though free agency was different then.
