so by your theory not one of the 31 other teams like Miles Austin either cos nobody is "showing" interest.
Dont kid yourself.

And how the hell do you know Oher wasnt drafted to play RT? Its where he was last year.

Alright I'm back in...this post is so bad I had to respond.

1. BP didn't say ALL 31 other teams were taking the same stance on Gaither. Re-read please.

2. Because Oher was a left tackle his entire life.

Any other questions?

Actually there is a bust factor on Gaither. He has work ethic issues and normally players who have those types of issues wind up getting worse when they get a big fat guaranteed signing bonus.

Also if the guy is such as stud, why did they draft someone to take his spot, why are they getting rid of him and why are no other teams stepped up to trade a 1st rounder for him?

Simple logic would dictate that if he is such a stud they would not draft a high round pick to replace him, and I think move UP to draft him which kind of defeats any BPA argument made. Nor would they give him away and again if he was such a stud why has no team already stepped up and took him?

One other thing to consider. If you draft a player or move a player like Free over you don't have to deal with a player coming in that you know will want a fat new contract like gaither will want. I would imagine he would command more than a 27th, or lower, draft pick would get signed for these days.

So...there are circumstances to be considered...it is not so cut and dry that if Jerry does not trade for him that we need to throw a hissy fit or anything.

your argument holds ZERO ground. None. You state they are trying to get rid of him. Are we trying to get rid of our RFA's, are te other 30 teams trying to "get rid" also. Stop making stuff up to support your theory.

no he said this "Seems like other teams must feel the same as Gaither is still sitting there"

how is that different.

Oh and Gaither was LT all his career, even as a feshman he started all 11 games at LT.

I'm positive that I could "rebuttle" your point. If there ever came a time I couldn't "rebuttle" a point coming from you, I'd probably off myself.

Where are you getting your sacks allowed numbers?

Profootballfocus is a bunch of amateurs watching network broadcasts. Their stats deviate greatly from STATS, who are the professionals, by quite an argument. Quoting them as if it makes a point is worthless. Quoting the overall ratings is pure comedy.

Its well documented that they gave him lower than the highest tender to tell teams that they would listen to offers. What makes you think that we are having this conversation in the first place.

Go read the Baltimore Sun, its all over the place.

so well documented that you provided a link.
Quelle suprise, more made up stuff & lies from the man who has made stuff up all day long. lol, you're a joke.

We're having this conversation beacuse like 200+ other NFL players he's an RFA this year. So by your reckoning all those guys teams are "listening" to offers. What was JJ thinking when he gave Miles Austin a tender only??

Are you really going to take this tact? This is really funny if you're arguing for Gaither in a trade when you think there is no chance that Baltimore would let him go. Thats a logical inconsistency.

But hey I will play along.

http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/blog/2010/03/would_ravens_trade_gaither.html

Its the newsblog that started this whole discussion, nimrod. And then you call ME a joke when you are quoting sacks from games Gaither didn't even play.

Why are you so quick to declare yourself some sort of "winner" when I haven't even had the chance to examine your "numbers?" Are you that scared of being challenged? And, surprise surprise, you got your numbers from some unofficial reference.

I've simply said that I'm positive that I can rebut your point. Losely stated, your point was that sacks are the end all, be all, and since Gaither gave up less sacks than Flo, he must definitely be better. Sorry, that's not the only thing involved.

Have you watched Gaither play at all? I haven't, and I'll admit it. Will you? Somehow I doubt it.

You got a hard on for a player because someone at profootballfocus.com did all the dirty work for you and you bought their numbers as gospel. Did you help that guy compile his numbers? How do you know if the numbers are accurate? I know you can't tell me how much help Gaither got on the left side. Was there a TE or a RB chipping over there all the time? You don't know.

You depend so much on these numbers... tell me how a team with the 20th, 22nd, and 51st rated tackles can be considered one of the best OLs in the league? How has Flozell been selected as an All-Pro and to 5 Pro Bowls if he's as awful as you believe? Come on, wow us with your scouting report. Can you think for yourself? I want to see it.

You're all talk... no substance. You talk in absolutes as if you know every single thing you speak about without a doubt. You don't. Get over yourself.

Own that.

Because teams don't trade up in the draft in the first round to take RTs, they do so to take LT's,...now that does not always pan out for them (robert gallery with the raiders) but I think you know they drafted him to be a LT...I will give you that much credit.

They are trying to get rid of him...I gave you credit in my last post...now I think I will take it back because you are starting to border on silly...at least before you were trying to make good arguments.

People use it all the time on here.

AdamJT and theo use it alot.

Keep bagging the source. It keeps reinforcing the ownage.

I'm sorry, but if Baltimore is willing to part with him, I don't want him. If he was able to anchor their line, they would've tendered him with a 1 & 3, even if they thought Oher was better, just to strengthen their ability to negotiate. If teams are interested in him, the 3rd round pick won't deter them.

Adam cites STATS as he is the only person on the board that I know of who has access to their database. theo is just as clueless about pff as you are. He uses it to claim that Hamlin is allpro material which is something you discount because its obviously not true.

Why do people keep saying this? They put a 1st round tender on him. That's not exactly a cheap price to pay.
