Hope springs eternal that the new boss won't be like the old boss with absolutely no evidence of that.
As long as winning without really winning on the field remains the norm, why change? It is a business first and foremost and a successful one so there's no need to really change.
Why do people in business make changes? Glad you asked. There are two prime motivations, the desire to gain or avoid pain and research tells us avoiding pain is the stronger motivator, especially if they're already in pain. Why do we think Booger has never really changed? Where's the pain? The only real pain he's had was being replaced for a short period of time as the face of the Cowboys. And who's face is the only one he's let share that now?
This never changes until someone is in charge that has to succeed, their job is dependent on the success on the field. I really don't think some consider just how important that stadium was to this business, it made them bulletproof. Think about it, the #1 attraction in all of pro sports and the highest valued one has done nothing, NOTHING, in 25 years and all that time it's just kept increasing in profit and value. You will not find anything in the business or sports world to match that.
The other fallacy is that the longer someone does something, the better they become at it. I can show you so many examples of this being not even remotely true and The Peter Principle wasn't fiction. Because you can buy something or be raised by someone who can doesn't assure them that they can run it. But they do run it, only it's not successful like most want here, where it really counts. That financial and exposure success is the enemy to success on the field.
Show me the reason for change and I will begin to buy into this belief the son will make it better. Where has he shown he's not at the same level of incompetency as his father? The Manziel pick? That's it?
There is a major difference between most of the posters here and myself in our belief about this team. I do not expect it to get much better but I have accepted what is and what will be and decided to stay on as a fan because of history and laundry. But I refuse to believe this is going to get better because of the the son because like the song says that I referenced in my first sentence, I won't get fooled again.
