It was good advice. Anyone who doesn't think that former players and coaches would know that this stuff was a distraction is walking through life with their head up a dark smelly place.

I think I have been clear this crap doesn't matter , not that I am enamored with TO.

You all out of points, like bbgun, and just go for the TO-lover stuff now too?

No one in this thread is. It's just you've had your buttkicked so many times in this debate, you just go straight to that weakness.

Pretty sad really, but it's all you got left.

Oh please. You couldn't win a battle of wits with a lobotomized preschooler. Kiss that photo of TO under your pillow and go nighty night.

I'm nowhere near out of points as I have more ammo. You have your own personal theory. I have actual experience and the input of actual players on the team, former NFL players on every network, and former coaches on every network.

All of them say you're wrong. If you want to keep playing your cymbals be my guest. It doesn't change the fact that you are arguing something that is dead wrong and only other people who haven't played the game and aren't listening to players and coaches would agree with you.

Not exactly good company to be in.

Have you listened to Ratliffs interview?
Did you hear Jones say "I can't part ways with terrel, I won't be able to sign Ware?

Or are you just ignoring a player and GM/owener?

Makes you want to find a priest and confess all your sins doesn't it? The end may be near.

Actually he and I agree on a lot. We just enjoy razzing each other.

Our "debate" revolves around me thinking that an NFL player can hear ansd see these things and, at the end of the day, it really doesn't matter.

You think they are delicate little flowers, disturbed by every comment and sideways from TO. They are so fragile that the game that they have played their entire can be adversely affected by a reporter, asking a question. They will forget assignments during a game contemplating TO's statements.

Told you he doesn't get it.

Proof.

So enlighten me.

What exactly does it affect? How does this "distraction" manifest itself?

Missed tackles? Dropped balls? Fumbles?

What exactly does it cause?

Dude I give you an A for effort. No he didn't, I didn't say he did.
He said the distractions and locker room problems are hurting this team.
He said people taking their complaints to the press are hurting this team.
So against your argument a PLAYER a respected player is proof that you are just wrong.

Now which player does what ratliff is saying the most?
Even Tabber admits that.

Fixed the link for you and posted the gist.

Bet you a dime to a doughnut that it won't make a lick of difference.

Once this season started going downhill there were all kinds of reports about the problem of the Dallas Cowboys not having good 'team chemistry'.

Forget the reports. Today Jay Ratliff flat out told us that the chemistry wasn't there...

Ratliff - Part One

I still laugh when I think about all the fans who emailed me about what I was reporting on this blog. I was told time and time again that the media was creating things and that they were making stuff up to bring down the Cowboys. I am not happy that this was in fact happening, but I am happy that I am not a sheep who thinks the media is the devil.

Sometimes it's hard to imagine that things aren't what you want them to be with your favorite sports team.

It sucks, but just dismissing it and wishing it away doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

And that's a 'Wade Phillips' mentality. Do we need to rehash where that thinking got us?

More from Ratliff...

Ratliff - Part Two

In some ways Rat is right about what he says that these are grown men and that they should be accountable on their own.

But the reality is that every player is not a 'Jay Ratliff' who can motivate himself into becoming a Pro Bowler after coming into the league as a 7th round draft pick.

I have a problem with Rat and how he talks about how close the defensive line is. There is a good chance that some of those guys are not going to be around next year. Canty and Spears are far from locks to be on this roster and Tank is a goner.

Too many stars? I do think you can have too many stars for sure. That's evident because we have too many guys on offense that we think should be the focal point of the offense. There is only one football to go around.

More from Ratliff...

Ratliff - Part Three

This team needs a lot more 'Jay Ratliffs' and a lot less 'Pacman Jones' running around this team if they eventually want to win a championship.

This interview is very telling.

It tells me that there are a lot of players on this roster that need to find a new home in 2009.

I know it's hard to stay on track, but the point of my examples were this:

T.O. seeks the media spotlight. You said it was all the media's fault.

I responded by giving you specific examples of T.O. seeking the media.

Your excuses on behalf of T.O. are a joke. You act like T.O. is some puppet who is being manipulated by the media.

The media say "Jump, T.O." and T.O., like a little Pinocchio can do nothing but respond.

He's never accountable. It's always someone else's fault, namely the media.

And you guys suggest we're brainwashed.

<spinning wheel>
"You be Hipmotized"
"You love T.O."
"You can't live without him."
"The Cowboys can't live without him."
"You must buy 'Little T.O. Learns to Share.'"
</spinning wheel>

:)

I fail to see how these things are "T.O. seeking the media." If anything, they're the media seeking him.

He doesn't have to do anything to draw attention to himself because the attention is always on him.

He doesn't come up with the Nicolette Sheridan idea, ABC does. He doesn't go to fitness magazines and ask to pose for them, they ask him. He doesn't ask for these interviews, he grants them.

Chad Johnson changes his last name to "Ocho Cinco."

Any player who blames "distractions" for the team's performance is just making excuses.

As theogt wisely said in another thread, teams don't win because they have chemistry; they have chemistry because they win.
Jeff Fisher said the #1 reason teams lose in the NFL is distractions.
