The NFL, UFC, and NBA want to speed up the process of removing illegal sports streams

All 3 sports giants (NFL, UFC and NBA) have done nothing to help the every day, tax paying sports viewer the past 3 years of covid and record inflation. All 3 have instead raised their rates. Yet, they are complaining? They don't care about you or I, so why should we care about them losing out a smidgen of what already are record financial profits?

"NFL revenue year by year was the highest for 2022-2023 season at $2.7 billion. Total revenue of NFL was $1.8 billion in 2021-2022 season."

They can all go to you know where. Fans built the NFL so let’s screw them some more. Instead of offering reasonable costs to watch games no overcharge the fans. I don’t stream games just watch what’s available but I can’t get past the greed That is the calling card of ownership players and the union. Wish folks would say screw you and stop paying for games and start cutting back on buying tickets.

I do ok... so the guy living on welfare can say , well he has several cars in his driveway, so if I steal his catalytic converter its ok, because he will be ok to buy a new one??????? its all releative.
Lol. We get each others point. It’s not far apart. It’s the way the guy said it, needed to be worded different. Even South Park made fun of it. Lars was only going to be able to afford a butler and was going to have to let the maid go. If YouTube is charging 350 for the ticket then it’s in line with what directv was charging. I paid for it for years but they also gave a 50% discount to long time subscribers. One of there sales tactics was new customers got ticket free the first year. I was only missing about 2 or 3 games a year. My wife got into a bad car wreck and is not able to work. If I wanted to get it I would sell one of the Harleys. But it’s not worth the money for 2 games. But if they sold it per game like a ppv I would be tempted.

They will say they had to raise the prices because of the people stealing content. But they have to notice they raise it and make more money so pretty much the same amount of people are still buying it every year. The economy keeps getting worse and they will price themselves out of business.

you dont have to watch the NFL. They are not the only game in toen. You could spend your entertainment dollars at the movies, concerts, cruises, out to dinner, baseball, basketball.... tons of stuff you could spend your money on besides the NFL.
If a store charged for parking, id shop elsewhere.
Ive been to dozens of NFL game sand rarely park at the stadium parking. AT&T has tons of off site parking for half the price within walking distance. There are always options.

Price gouging is taking advantage of an emergency an djacking up prices. There is no such emergency to watch NFL games. It is a take it or leave it type of thing.
I will say this again... i am no moralist telling you or anyone else if they should stream or not. I just have a problem with people trying to rationalize what they are doing by saying the NFL makes too much, thus it is ok for me to steal their product. Just admit you would steal the product no matter what they charged...... because you can.
Again, I am not saying you're wrong, just giving reasons why people choose to do what they do. The higher the cost, the more people will look to get around that cost. If you stopped the illegal streaming, many of the people that do it, wouldn't be able to afford it anyway.

I'm just saying that I don't blame anyone for doing it. Mainly because I myself have, and continue to get around certain high cost items myself. So I can't now criticize others for a similar act.

An economy's condition will not deter demand negatively in a significant way unless the value of a want bottoms out. In the NFL's case, stadium ticket pricing, Sunday Ticket pricing, etc., must increase above that of a luxury considered by high income or wealthy consumers.

Yes. Middle class and lower consumers are subsequently priced out if the product is too costly but overall demand remains constant. Supply exists and a tier of consumers, willing and able to pay costs no longer affordable to lower income tiers, consider value worthwhile in the product.

In short, the NFL must not hold value as a luxury product by those who can afford luxury purchases before the league will price themselves out of their own market. Personally, I do not see them reaching the break-even point any time soon. Glancing at resell prices on Ticketmaster, Seat Geek, etc., and then noting actual stadium attendance appear on television in team cities across the country (or acknowledging how YouTube has not been deterred from stacking Sunday Ticket costs atop what Directv had established before) leads me to believe my prediction will stay true.

Ive not criticized a single person for doing it. I criticize them for their ridiculous rationalization of why it is ok.

why should the NFL do something to help you? they are a BUSINESS... and ENTERTAINMENT business, thats what they do. They are not responsible to help you with your finances. Businesses are out to generate as much revenue as possible. The NFL does nothing special... they simply have a product that this country cant get enough of. Amazon makes a boatload of money... so therefore I should go rob that truck... I mean, Amazon hasnt done anything to help me out.

Oil companies are raking in record profits right now.
Restaurants have jacked up prices.
Subway sandwich used to sell footlongs for 7.99.... last week it cost me 17 bucks for a sandwich, drink and chips. So shoud I rob the subway since they are not selling sandwiches at "Reasonable," prices.

What is "Reasonable?"
By the way, the nfl sells a game ticket for 125 bucks and then GREEDY scalpers try to sell it for 300... so you trying to tell me that society is any different than the owners?

and when they charge a price where their nuber of subscribers drops, then they will level out what they charge or even lower the price. But if people keep paying the price, they will keep raising the price.

By the way, the nfl does not set the price for the ticket.

So many businesses lower their prices to help consumers during a catastrophic event that affects the whole country. For the NFL not to do it (instead, they raised their prices), they get no sympathy from me.

The scalping got stopped years ago by the NFL since they no longer offer tickets to the game. Everything now is done online via a barcode that you can either save on your phone or print out to show at the entry to the stadium. Pretty much blows your rant apart.

The prices seen on Tickpick, stubhub, seatgeek and the like are proof that the owners are no more greedy than avg joes. If you had a car you bought for 40k and all of the sudden people were buying it for 80k, youd likely list that car for 80k... not 39k to help out your fellow citizen.

The NFL gets a huge chunk of their money from tv deals... it is the avg joe watching from home that feeds them their billions, not those that attend the games. In addition, they price their tickets at x and scalpers buy them up so avg joe cant buy them and resale for double the price. I dont blame the owners for the ridiculous prices as much as I do those in the business of buying up and reselling tickets.

WHAT??????? lol... you clearly have no clue about how tickets are sold in todays NFL business and concerts. Scalping is bigger than it has veer been... EVER!
I go to the home season opener every year. I buy tickets in various sections of the stadium. A few years back, they actually sent you the tickets, now it is a digital transfer. Anyways, no matter what section my tickets were in, the tickets that came in the mail always came from the same address in Las Vegas. Why do you think that is? Because a SCALPER, a very good professional scalper was using bots or they simply had season tickets that they then used aftermarket sites to SCALP their tickets. It just isnt called scalping anymore, but make no mistake, they are scalping and they are scalping on a scale that the shady looking dud in the parking lot from 30 years ago could only dream of.

Do me a favor... go look up the Cowboys season opener against the jets and look at prices around (here I did it for you) section 233 has tickets selling for 900 bucks. That my friend is scalping... its just being done online.

I noticed directv was having a lot of people dropping the ticket. I gather someone buys the contract for the ticket by paying the NFL an amount. Then set the price accordingly to recover their money and make a profit. How many years did YouTube get it for.

Them losing about 28 billion assumes people would pay for services if they can’t watch the games. Remember back in the 80s and 90s when folks were just content watching their local teams…

The other point is, why are the taxpayers paying for new stadiums that are being constructed specifically for digital media and streaming in mind?

Imagine if the NFL had to pay a percentage of the streaming services and ad revenue to the states that fund their billion dollar plus stadiums, not just “improve” the economy by creating a few janitor jobs
