Are you sure about that? He pretty much makes a lot of the FA decisions now. Also, look at the Raiders for how an owners' kid taking over works.

KC saw something in Maholmes despite having Smith and drafted him in the first round, because those type of QBs are picked there for a reason. They have a better chance at being great than lesser round QBs. Not only that, they traded up to get him.
