Doesn't seem like we've gotten a lot of updates on practice. There was definitely more hype in camp last season
GM Jethro has decided to spend less on marketing this year to save a few more $'s.

Not identical necessarily, but there is no logic to say 7-10 is optimistic. Have they really lost 5 games worth of players? Did you love Dorrance Armstrong and Tony Pollard that much?

They're as likely to win 14 games as they are 7.
Watch the GB game again and tell me there is no logic to 7-10. Zeke is our primary back. And there is no logic to 7-10?

Great post and we’ve been conditioned to feel skeptical about any real success since Jerry cant build a winner with almost three decades to experiment. What a dumpster fire.

They will fire MCarthy, Zimmer becomes interim hc, then Super Bowl week Jerry will announce the Belicheck hiring.
Well put faithful, I myself have given up on Daboys. With the money that the Jones boys charge to go watch a mediocre team for the past 3 decades, I'll stay home and watch the game on my 75" tv. Watching ESPN today and the NFL is not what it used to be, all they talk about is who's going to get paid over $200 million. It's not about the game and the fans anymore its about which player can make more bank, including the retards Jones boys!. Restructuring Daks contract really, with the disappointments he puts the fans thru year after year C'mon man! We haven't had any bragging rights since the last Super Bowl in 1996. Long time fan since the 70's Roger Staubach days when the STAR meant something!. Peace ✌️ out.

Actually, there are some positives. It is looking like they are improved on the oline and at linebacker. If the oline can stay healthy for most of the year, I suspect that they will win the division again and be a contender.
Winning the division and being a contender is not mutually exclusive…. Both Dallas and Philly got slapped around like red headed stepchildren last season in the playoffs.. Like neither belonged.. Dallas has more weaknesses than just the OL. Like putting a bandage over a compound fracture.

This is stupid. Good teams lose games all the time.

The running game doesn't correlate to winning.
We didn't lose.

We got run off the field, dominated, embarrassed in a home playoff game as the #2 seed in the NFC.

The team did little to actually improve itself beyond hoping some draft picks make immediate impacts. It's quite possible this team could be an 8-9, 7-10 type team if things don't break the way we need it to.

The foul stench of the worse loss in Cowboys history has not worn off a bit. January's emasculation at the hands of the fledging Packers took a toll not seen around here before. Green Bay had no prospects as the proverbial sacrificial lamb, but instead left with all the women and fine china, laughing their way home after slapping Cowboys' manhood around for three epically long hours.

There's now no pretending left to do. This season feels like an arranged marriage to the fat girl.

Sure, it's sports, and lightning in a bottle and any given Sunday and all of that. But far too many seasons of kerplunk after kersplat have rusted away the spirit of the most ardent of optimists surrounding this rented mule. There's zero anticipation outside of just guessing how the car crash will happen in 2024.

Camp is lifeless with few spectators. The coach is a lame duck. The depth is gone. The quarterback is begging for more money. The owner looks cryptic and delusional. The star players are barking and holding out. This is a dumpster full of gasoline waiting for a spark. This ain't the formula, and everybody knows.

Our hillbilly brass clearly knows and doesn't care because the coffers are full and the tickets are bought. They certainly don't believe in their roster because they sat the offseason out entirely, even more than usual. Didn't sign anyone and let most of what they had go. They've accepted their fate and hunkered down, knowing there are gonna be a lotta road games at home as season ticket holders are flooding their tickets into the after-market.

Never have I seen it this depressing. The ending is already written. Even during the Campo years and that long stretch of Quincy/Henson/Chutch nonsense we suffered through was more intriguing than this. Probably because meaningful winning wasn't so long ago back then.

Can they win some games? Perhaps, because this is the NFL of today, and most teams are pretty bad. Can they make the playoffs? Not likely, but maybe because it's just a shoddy league. But beyond that, there's nothing.

This feels like a 7-10 team with nothing to look forward to. And that's a bad place to be.
I guess I'm different. That stench of that playoff loss is gone and it's a new season. Camp is buzzing with activity. Rookies showing, they are good enough for this league. New wrinkles in the offense are being installed and the new defensive scheme is coming together. This team is as good as anyone, and they are working with a clean slate. Go Cowboys! :flagwave:

predictions are always unpredictable

having said that, both the polyannas and chicken littles are boring

unfortunately for those who want to see more Lombardi trophies the last 29 years makes it hard to be optimistic about getting another

Yeah, Staubach was my favorite Cowboy and my favorite era for sure! It's just a money making machine where Jerry has benefitted from Landry and Schramm building the most indestructible brand in sports history. Any other NFL franchise would have seen the fans leave in droves decades ago. Can you imagine if Jerry had bought the Eagles?

Make this a stick.

True for every season.

Cowboys have been a mess for decades . Not sure why so many fans are finally beginning to see it. It’s too late …

I can't believe I'm saying this but that scenario wouldn't be the worst thing that could happen. At this point we're all tired of "almost good enough". If hitting rock bottom turns things around, let it come.
Honestly, that's the beauty of it. I don't think we're actually hitting rock bottom. We have a good defense and a good O line. It's just going to take a year to develop, and you gotta have a guy throwing the football, that can get it done. Most of all a coach that can have the team actually prepared to play a big game. Any big game!!
