The simple truth of Dak Prescott

They have talent but was that recognized talent before they played with them? You could say Hill was but 2 of those, as well as Wilson, have elevated the play around them with good players they helped make better.

We've seen the better QB's missing some pieces and perform and lift others, you ever see that with Prescott? Or did you see the opposite when Elliott was out or before he got Cooper? The fact, imo, is that it wasn't that group of WR's, after they canned Bryant, they were not the problem because both Beasley and Williams were right, they were getting NFL open and not getting the ball. I know, I watched the games again just for that. They realized they had to get talent better than the QB for the QB.

I am not going to change any Dakster's or Dakater's mind so I don't argue any more than I did against the Romorooters. I am neither, I am in that area where they need him because they don't have any other option for this season, and I don't see Dalton as that, but it would not bother me if they didn't sign him long term but then the real problem pops up, they need luck finding a QB, they really suck at it.
Gronk wasn't? edleman? Thomas? you don't think those players would have done great with other QBs? would you take Thomas over Cooper?

I agree, Wilson does lift players around him. he is pretty special, but he hasn't done much since they lost their vaunted defense and those players.....he does get to playoffs, but hasnt' been able to do much....

and the list of QBs that lift players is rather small and as I have often argued, its given those talents what can they achieve. we can't say cooper, gallup, witten are so great that they lifted Dak to lead the NFL in offense last year. we all wanted witten gone. a 36 year old TE......

he did have a good OL, one that was better in run blocking than pass blocking and thus I am disappointed in zeke.

I have also heard that cooper was over rated, but then to argue against dak, they say he had cooper....it can't be both ways. gallup was a 1000 yard receiver, a second year player...did Dak not lift him? Jarwin is now the starting TE, an UDFA....

we also can't neglect that brees, brady, Wilson, have peyton, bilicheck and carroll, while we had Garrett Top!

Yeah... they are all REALLY GOOD.

Dak is the exact kind of marginal talent that as soon as one of many possible outcomes (he gets a little worse, he suffers an injury, the team gets worse) occurs, then he is gone.

Cam Newton was handed an MVP shortly over four years ago, the same season that Dalton was talked about as an MVP candidate before his season-ending injury. Now neither of them are even starters. The end comes fast.
Sobering reality. The NFL will chew you up and spit you out.

Mmm... it's my wife's birthday, so when she gets home we're ordering her favorite BBQ.
So glad she's not a vegetarian!

Ryan Tannehill at age 31 with a .500 career record and 2 playoff wins in 7 NFL seasons just got 29.5M for 4 seasons.
4 year, $118,000,000 contract with 91M guaranteed.

And people think Dak at 35m is vastly overpaid.

It's not the $35M. It's what the 4 year term does to increase the pro-rated cap hit and limit the team's flexibility in terms of being able to restructure and push cap charges into the future. Dak wants Russell Wilson money (he's really not on the same tier) at an average cap charge that is 20% greater to the Cowboys, because the guaranteed money must be prorated over 4 years instead of 5.

In any event, most balking at $35M for Dak probably wouldn't approve of Tannehill's contract. You're appealing to a comparator the validity of which your opponents wouldn't recognise.

So many threads with wasted energy going around and round when none of that matters.

There are basic truths fans will simply have to come to grips with.

Dak Prescott will likely not earn less than 30M per year(AAV) at any point over the next 8 or 9 seasons. --as a side note Gary Myers was in Dallas before NY and his take was simply false and silly but pandering to Giants fans makes sense in that market. He was second rate here and that has continued on in NYC. You can safely say stupid things that will never be dis-proven and Dak isn't going to be a Free Agent anytime soon to make Gary apologize for his pandering.

Dak Prescott will almost assuredly end his career as the all-time Dallas Cowboys passing leader. He averages almost 250 yards per game passing. That's significantly higher than Romo who was the best of anyone with 20+ starts. Dak was over 300 yards per game last year.

Dak Prescott will likely end up with at least the second most wins in Cowboys history. At this pace, 10 wins a season, he'd pass Tony Romo on his next deal be it 4 years or anything greater. Troy would take him 6 seasons, Roger 5. Troy only had 27 wins through 4 full NFL seasons. Dak is on a pace 13 wins ahead of that. Romo had 6 wins at this age.

Dak Prescott had holes in his game prior to 2019. He would get lazy with footwork and throw some inaccurate passes. He fumbled a bit too much. But 2019 showed a drastic improvement in those areas. And why not. He is using Tom Brady's personal QB coach for development. In 2019 he performed at a rate that was elite. He was a top 5 passer for 2019. His weapons and offense got better this off-season. Potentially markedly so.

Anyone with actual intellect has already grasped all these things. They are completely confused by the so very awful "Dak isn't good" takes. It is really hard to tell if the authors of those takes are trolls, just dumb as dirt, hurt Romo-stans or some other weird affliction. If you hold such a weird opinion perhaps ask yourself to which group you belong and see about removing yourself. Because you are talking out of your butt about our franchise QB.
Dak sux!

What’s amazing and hilarious is how the anti-Dak troglodytes think they’re “winning” something because Dak hasn’t signed on the dotted line yet.

Welcome to reality: reports are the offer on the table is something like $35m/year for 5 years. Dak wants a 4-year deal so he can cash in again a year sooner.

Exactly what part of any of that is a “win” for you people???

Are you celebrating now because you know that Dak will be SMACKING YOU ALL IN THE MOUTH soon???

Dak will be able to buy and sell you losers soon enough. Feels good, doesn’t it?

Almost as corny as a grown man with Dez Bryant as his avatar pic. Out of the league since 2018 and not by choice.

Dez earned $57m in his career. Dak will earn more than half of that next season alone. U mad??????

I bet you shed tears when CeeDee got #88. Those workouts with Mahomes and Dak got your hopes up, didn’t they?

You mean the guy who just threw 5 TDs in 3 postseason games with a trip to the Championship game? Beat NE and BAL on the road? 5-3 road record on the season? Is that the guy you're talking about! Now we claim Dak is "BETTER" Why regular season stats? lmao. Because of Tannehills time in Miami? Dak beat the Eagles 4 times in a row in case anyone was wondering exactly what makes him worth the money!! How amazing is that?? Give him 40 million, 35 is too light.

Opinions abound as to what to think, say or do, with this Dak deal being such a drag.
All I know is that I'll be tremendously relieved when all the controversy is over.

Everyone and his daddy has their point of view. In the end, will it really even matter?
Welll that's what we are here for. Pretending it matters.

I have made a couple REAL life friends on forums. One was a guitar forum and years later we still talk even though he moved. I claim starfan as a close-as-you-can get to a friend on internet. So I;'m forever hopeful something might pop up HERE. Other than that...we're just agreeing or disagreeing with people.
