The Stench of Failure

Anytime someone states they have been a long time fan and also talks about walking away in the same sentence it pretty much renders one of those two things BS and screams "look at me"
Given what happened against the Packers along with the 28 year drought, I don't think it's fair to blame any Cowboys fan for feeling exactly the way the OP feels. We all know that 99.9% of Cowboys fan will recover from the disgust and rant their way back into the bandwagon at some point. I know for myself, I'm not quite sure where I am on the spectrum. I think the 2024 Cowboys can have a winning regular season once again and maybe a 50% chance of getting back into the playoffs. But TBH, I have no confidence in Dak Prescott not choking in big games and the playoffs once again. And I still believe that this last season is probably the peak of the McCarthy era. I like Zimmer in the sense that he's probably the type of DC the Cowboys need right now. But I don't expect miracles either.

Failure?

Everybody making millions. Scoring TD's. Everyone a month into their vacations already instead of still practicing and studying for the next game. Ain't no failure there.

What are the odds that even one single player is feeling the disappointment of the failure this season turned out to be?
I guess as long as the $ shows up in their banking apps and their social media gets views, they good.

Seems the ex-Cowboys like Irvin and Emmitt were more upset than the current players

They can win 50-7 every week next year and start 12-0 and I still wont have confidence. This year may be the one which ruins football for me for life, Im getting old.

IMO— after being absolutely dismantled and embarrassed and registering the worst playoff defeat in franchise history— this team has not made one positive decision.

Not one.

Status quo maintained? Check

Losing decent coaches? Check

Going “all in” by rehiring a DC that flamed out here already? Check

Players and their families saying stupid crap online? Check

Same players still feeling entitled to extensions and massive contracts? Check

This team is CLOAKED in failure from top to bottom. Their “solution” to their failure is to “run it back” because we are “hanging around the rim”.

Pathetic. I have loved and supported this team since the early 80’s— and I have NEVER been as close as I am to just walking away in disgust.

I have zero confidence in the leadership of the FO.

I have zero confidence and trust in the heart and will of these players.

I have zero faith in the abilities of the coaching staff to prepare and equip the roster for success.

I have zero hope that any of these things change anytime soon.

Sorry for the rant. Just pissed as we prepare to watch another SB featuring decent teams that are simply on another level compared to ours.

This offseason has already been brutal and I don’t see any light at the end of this long, dark, crap-infested tunnel.

Rant over
:hammer: You're not wrong......Think the majority of fans feel the same way. We should have cleaned house.....starting with McCarthy.

There are currently 20 HBCU players in the NFL. One of them is a Cowboy.

Markquese Bell

Lance and Luepke are both from the FCS.
I am aware about Bell......but 20 is still a low number.

What's changed? I bet there's 20 or more in the HOF, alone.

All of this will be forgotten and forgiven after they beat up on a few crappy teams and pad their stats next season. That seems to be the measuring stick these days.
They play the same teams that every team in the league plays

Thanks. I knew. For everyone's clarity......we need speed and dawgs at LB, and results at other positions......not sure why we're not looking under the rug, beneath the bushes, and around the corners..........for talent. It's out there.

Bills Traded up in the 1st round and took their TE Kincaid and as you state they panicked and the rest of our draft was dog poo.
Why does Will McClay still have a job after the Taco and Mazi debacles????
Because Jerry's drafts were so horrific, even average drafting is much better.
