***The Super Duper Swag Johnny Football teen beat thread***

He has intangibles you cannot teach but he is very risky with his body & scrambling & I think he'll be one in the training room more than on the field.

Has he even declared?

The guy is playing with 1 receiver and one lineman. That's it. So what he's doing with basically no talent around him is astonishing.

must be why he can stand in the pocket forever on most passes and pick a receiver to throw too and he has more than Evans, they also have some very good backs so just stop with the no talent BS.

Johnny Manziel - QB - Aggies
NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah believes Texas A&M redshirt sophomore QB Johnny Manziel's escapability against free rushers is the best he has ever seen.

Jeremiah added he wrote "Romo on steroids" during his evaluation of Manziel. Our own Josh Norris has compared Manziel's improvisational skill reminds him of Tony Romo's. The redshirt sophomore has also improved as a passer this season, hitting targets downfield and outside the numbers more consistently.

Dont let Jerry read this or you can say bye bye to three ones and a two. Rams (4skins) pick up for sale.

Would love to have Manziel. Gil Brandt was on Sirius this am, said the he will be a top 10 pick. Said the he was told by a good friend that runs a qb camp that Manziel is just a shade under 6 foot. Brees coming out was 6' 1/8". I think the kid is a winner, unfortunately we need DL in the worst way...So very tempting though.

Draft scout lists him at 5:11 BTW Brees is more like 5:10

Manziel put up great numbers against SEC teams. That is just one notch below the NFL.
I simply do not know what to think of this kid in the NFL. He has the makings of a superstar.or a bust written all over him.
Glad I am not in the hot seat come draft time with that decision.

Brees was measured at just over 6' at the NFL combine. Those are the most reliable numbers to go by.

Chris Mortenson this morning on ESPN was talking about Manziel's father. According to the elder Manziel, he went through a late growth spurt at about the same age Johnny is now. I find that doubtful.

I do want this kid so bad, what could we possibly trade to move up? This kid is going to go high, some saying both the Browns and the Texans love him. Kid has winner written all over him.

I can see the Texans trading to get Mallet from the Patriots and going in another direction with their top draft pick.

After completing his season with Texas A&M, quarterback Johnny Manziel dodged questions about whether he would turn pro early. It has been long assumed that Manziel would declare for the NFL draft.

However, the question of how good Manziel will be in the NFL lingers. One scout recently compared Manziel to retired quarterback Brett Favre, who was a second-round pick and went on to have an extraordinary career.

“He’s Favre,” the scout said. “On Sunday, he’s going to play his (butt) off. The rest of the week, he’s going to do what he wants to do.”

The scout said that was a combination of both great and sometimes bad habits. While Favre was a great player and worked hard at his craft, he also enjoyed having a good time.

“If you tell him not to go drink, he’s not going to listen. He’s going to go drink,” the scout said of Manziel. “If you can tell him not to chase (women). He’s going to chase (women). That’s just who he is and he’s going to do what he wants. I think he’s going to be great, but you’re going to have to deal with him on his terms.”

The same scout predicted before the 2012 draft that Russell Wilson would eventually become an outstanding quarterback.

If he is there when we pick NO WAY JERRY passes on him . We all know it . Having said that , he will probably be gone .

Do we see 4 QBs drafted in the top ten this year: Bridgewater, Hundley, Manziel, and Bortles? That would be something. I think it is quite possible. Houston, Clev, Jax, and Oak all need QBs bad, real bad. If I were the Rams, I'd also be looking at a QB. Bradford costs an arm and a leg, has been average so far, and is coming off ACL surgery.

I hope to God that he is gone long before our pick...he is NOT what this team needs

He is basically Brees with Vicks legs. The guy is gonna be a star in the NFL.

If there's any way for Jerry to get him, he will.

No real cap money. Patchworking the D again. Keeping the coaches they can. He's got to sell this thing somehow.

Johnny Football is what he needs.

Might be 5 with Carr, especially if Chicago doesn't resign Cutler. Carr would be a great fit for Trestman's offense with those two monster WR's to play with.

I'm becoming more and more convinced that Cleveland is going to take Manziel with their 1st pick (#4 overall). They've made it no secret that they're interested in him, and what better way to sell tickets for an ailing franchise than to bring in the most exciting player in CFB. Could it all be speculation? Certainly. But with new management coming into the Browns organization, I think they want to make a splash with their first pick under the new regime and QB is their biggest need. It only makes sense.

Manziel will be gone before the Boys' pick, but i'd love to see him drafted here. I know we have huge needs on defense, but he is going to be to good to pass up. We might be seeing the end of Romo. Its time to draft our guy now, and let him study under Romo for a year. Or Kyle Orton if Romo cant go.

How about Bortles? He might be available at 16 or 17. Kid has ideal size, a terrific arm and enough athleticism. He's an Andrew Luck type QB IMO.
