***The T.O. Thread***

just wait til he implodes and a lot of folks will do just what you said!:D

If we do sign him, I expect that the board membership drops by at least 25% with all of the promises and threats I have read over the last few months.

I hate to see him with the star on his helmet but he fits in the 'win now' mode..plus he will put fans in the seats big time..
JJ probably figures he will be BP's work in progress for the year...but like BP did with some others, he hits some and misses on others.
but I think the contract will be structured so that the second he screws up he loses money and probably any hope of catching on again with any other team
The other thing is that he gets revenge against the Eagles so he may be valuable within the division...
he also has that Micheal Irvin passion for the game although he does not know how to channel it correctly the way Michael did but I think JJ is yearning to go back to the times when the Cowboys played with reckless abandon when they had Dion and Micheal... it will be interesting to see how this could work with BP, he has his own way of doing things..
but I think most players in theNFL, if your were to ask them if they wanted TO on their teams, the majority would say yes becuase they know he can deliver

As in Win now...plus you get to rebuild the team he destroys.

I don't question his ability to play the game just as I don't question his ability to cause a lot of problems for the team he plays for, enough of a problem that both teams were willing to let him go as fast as they could.

wrong again!

What am I wrong about?

You'll leave the forum or you won't love Owens after the first TD?

I bet you wont do the former...While doing the latter.

I'm not here for one moment to tell you that Owens Can't or Won't cause problems...It's how the Cowboys deal with them that will be important.

I'll give the story I've told a million times:

That game was my first Cowboys game to see live. Ever

Further - because he cannot be sympathized. He is the characature of the To The Head Superstar. And not on a tolerable level - especially in the perennial team sport. He has done nothing for any considerable amount of time to prove that he wants to win as a team and can take the lumps of losing and feeling down.

He is everything you DON'T want your teammate to be.

...

And because he ruined the first Cowboys game I ever went to.

amen bro....i don't want it either.

i wish we could get his talent in another body.

That is the whole deal Dallas should not have to deal with it, TO needs to act like a grown man not some little kid. Dallas is trying to win games not baby sit some moron who does not know when to shut his mouth. It is also not an accident that TO last 2 teams released him and while it is easy for some to blame SF and Philly the problem was and is TO he brings this on himself

Hey Owens is a Idiot sometimes...No denying that.

But maybe the Cowboys will be ahead of the game about knowing how he is and dealing with him in a different manner than his former teams.

Will they? I don't now but I'm hopeful.

I say the Boyz should bring T.O. in, only on the condition that they hire George Teaque, #31, to stand watch over him!

I don't want him here, but, if he came...that's OK too! I would root for him, and I bet he would play with the vengence of the Devil himself, when the Boyz play the stinking puke green Eagles!

Are you talking about the fur coats, motel rooms and cocaine?

He is a 12 year vet and if Dallas signs him for a 1 year deal that would be stupid why waste the time? if it is a longterm deal you deal with his problems he causes in the locker-room all in all the guy is not worth the trouble. He has talent no doubt but he is not the only WR in this league with talent and frankly I would take a guy with a bit less talent who we can sign for a few years so he could be a part of the future of this club instead of some 1 year fix on a guy who can do just as much damage as he can help you.

I won't be in that 25%.... I want to be around when all the folks that wanted him here start to backtrack.....

Have any of thought about the fact that this guy hasnt played a full seaosn in 2 years? And the fact that he is 33 years old? Who knows how out of shapoe he will be when he is forced to again play a full season.

Yet another reason why we should not sign him

put your money where your mouth is..... I'll be here -sign him or not.... and I promise you I will not be rooting for TO! I hope he doesn't catch a single pass and Jason Witten catches 100+ balls this season! Bank on it....
