Jeepers, what the heck is wrong with this game? Needed our man Liotta on there and we'd be set! :D

But wow seriously, this is getting worse by the day for them.
The developer definitely screwed up but one thing I will say is that Sony and Microsoft are just as much at fault. These games go through an approval process that is not easy and there is no way the issues were not known. As other people have mentioned, the pressure to be out for Christmas is tremendous. The pressure to be an early title on the new consoles even more so.

We have a game that was supposed to release today on all of the platforms and it just didn't happen. Sony and Microsoft recently changed their submission process and have new developer portals. It's a total mess. It's my freaking birthday today and I was supposed to have the day off. I've had about 100 phone calls and messages asking what happened and I have no answers.

Do you think Microsoft and Sony might have "pencil whipped" the approval process due to the developer's reputation?

Very possible and one thing with the consoles is they care way less as they reach the end of their cycle. They are focused on the new consoles. Our games for PS4 and XB1 pass now in a few days where in the past, they would fail it 5-6 times for nitpicky stuff. I just would have expected a AAA title like Cyberpunk to be scrutinized more. We've submitted crap in the last year that we expected to fail, just to meet a deadline, and have been shocked when it passed submission. We end up scrambling to make a patch because we know the game is broken.

Ok Walmart has shipped my 2nd xbox x order, shipped from NC and in transit already arriving Wednesday. Once i get it in my hands and connected/works i will call walmart and refund my first order from Nov25th that never shipped.

@BigStar Walmart ship your PS5 today?
Yessir..shipped from AZ and expected Christmas Eve.... Feeling ready to neglect everybody lol but seriously excited to get rolling soon. Happy yours is finally coming your way too after getting stiffed initially.

Weird that more recently Walmart is the one coming out swinging with the antibot software and not the Best Buy or Gamestop tech type stores. Give them credit after fumbling early. They cancelled a bunch of bot preorders from Thanksgiving and are the only ones seemingly trying to fight that angle now.

Yessss my man! Stoked you're getting it earlier than expected. Walmart did a ton of bot blocking for the holidays so respect to them.

Videogames are a bigger industry than sports and movies combined, thanks to the pandemic

Not only have videogames grown to resemble competition-based, interactive movies, but COVID-19-related lockdowns have propelled the industry to make more...

We've made more money this year than the last several. It's weird to work in an industry that benefits from times of crisis. Back during the crash in '08, we did really well too. I feel guilty about it sometimes but games are an outlet people need when the stuff hits the fan.

I wouldn't feel guilty, quite the opposite like you said providing a good financial alternative when you're short on money. You can probably get more value out of purchasing a videogame then say going to the movies/going to a nice dinner. Now if you want to start selling games for cheap during financial hard times I'm sure there would be no complaints :) I hear your general point though, you're doing well while others aren't. Surprised they haven't beaten that conscious out of you yet (more life in general than your employers) but am glad they haven't. You're good people.

The kind words are much appreciated. This thread is full of good people and is very informative for me.
