The Walking Dead (S5) - First half of season thread

Episode 5-3 10-26-14

Good episode. Sort of between episode 1 and episode 2 as far as overall rating.

It didn't follow the comic exactly, which was good.

"We didn't want to waste the bullets." Cold.

Good ep. Got unexpectedly super gruesome real quick, even for a show with zombies and cannibals.

Did Gareth and Co. cross paths with Tyreese or Judith? I didn't think so but Gareth somehow knew their names. I realize there was the shack, but I didn't think the scout got info back to Gareth.

That "scout" (Martin) was with Gareth's group at the end. You only caught darkened glimpses of his face, which was battered.

That episode last night was intense. I'm hoping they can keep up the intensity.

Pretty good episode.

"We didn't want to waste the bullets." AWESOME.

I'm guessing next week might be dedicated to Beth and the ordeal she has been through, then cutting back to Darryl returning.

Still need to watch last nights episode, but it was my impression that Beth willingly left Daryl once he started acting more feminine around her. She seems like the type only attracted to badasses.

Ahh... No.

She was kidnapped.

yep. tyrese let him live and i think he saw the mistake. but rest assured that man is going to be the next to rick-out.

Yeah, the only one that could catch that mistake would have been him since Carol was out ramming the roads with Daryl.

Thing about the episode last night...if they Terminites had left even a single scout at the door--as any reasonable group would have knowing that Rick and the others were out there somewhere--they'd have been in a defensible position with two of Rick's kids and however-many hostages to get them out of their jam. That was just an awful 'plan.' Especially when you've just figured out that these guys have been watching you, unobserved, for weeks.

well we can mark this 100% wrong.

So who is with Daryl?

I am thinking Morgan.

I have the feeling Carol got captured trying to rescue Beth and Daryl got away and stumbled on Morgan "watching" from the woods.

Next week will be the Beth back story show...followed by an on the road story with the group headed to DC...and the mid-season cliff hanger rescuing Beth and Carol.

This is pretty much exactly what I'm thinking. Not sure about the Carol bit, but I think it's Morgan with Daryl, and we get the Beth back story leading into the cliff hanger.

Maybe it's Carol with a gun on Morgan. Because finding him out there I don't think Daryl would turn his back to him. I was wondering from the previews if Beth is in DC. It appeared to be a city. And what did they want with her? Experiments? Someone trying to find the cure.

I don't think this is the first time S44 mentioned his Beth hypothesis. So unfortunately I don't think he's joking.

There will be no on the road to DC storyline. In the previews to this season, it shows the church bus wrecking and Abraham crying over something. Just my opinion, I think it's over Eugene getting captured by the same group that has Beth. And that's where we'll find out that Eugene is a fraud.
