I saw a horror movie a few days ago from the "Chiller" channel, called "13 Eerie". It was basically a zombie kind of movie, and I sure wish the Walkers in this show were more like the baddies from that movie. Something to truly FEAR. The walkers in this show really are little more than a joke. I mean the only way you can really get bitten by one is by being just stupid and/or really careless. I still love The Walking Dead, but it really has little to do with being a true zombie show.

I watched that too... good flick for what it was!

That's the difference between "fast" zombies and "slow" zombies. The ones in "13 Eerie" were faster, more powerful and smarter. While I enjoyed the movie, these creatures were more like "monsters" than reanimated corpses– probably something to do with the black-liquid giving them some sort of "boost" if you will.

I've always felt the "slow" zombie was more realistic. Someone dies, their muscles atrophy, the body loses its ability to lubricate joints and what-not.

Did you ever see "28 Days Later"? Zombies in that movie were SUPER-QUICK...and it was terrifying at numerous points.

But yeah I agree, slow zombies are more realistic and fast ones would come across as ridiculous in a series like the Walking Dead.

One thought I've had - if their hearts aren't beating, their blood is not flowing. Wouldn't that cause their teeth to decay, rot, and fall out without the blood supply?

With the Woodbury arena and the ease at which the detoothed Zombies I think they are weakened. Makes me wonder why they don't fall out when attempting to bite someone.

Oh I very much enjoyed "28-Days Later" but to me that was an infected movie more so than a zombie movie.

For me the slow, plodding ones are more frightening. Watch "The Dead". It uses slow zombies in perhaps the best way I've ever seen.

Yeah, over time the bodies are going to decay. I'll give "The Walking Dead" credit for that. The zombies have been gradually decaying.

Oh man I don't know... Sprinting Zombies like in 28 weeks later freak me out.

That opening scene in 28 weeks later is crazy.

Those aren't zombies in the "28" movies. They are infected with a rage virus.

Zombies that are fast like in 28 days later, virus or whatever, or World War Z would be by far more terrifying than the ones on Walking Dead. If they could move that fast, in that kind of a group, you'd pretty much just have to kiss your butt goodbye cause you're screwed.

The more recent version of Dawn of the Dead, they moved much more quickly...you couldn't get away from them when they were first chasing you...

Why don't corpses rot on this show? They keep finding all these dead people , but the bodies have very little decomposition. I usually can overlook these things, but at some point there should be alotta stink involved.

you pick strange times to look for inconsistencies.

tonight, just odd. things are being either tossed out to future direction, or just have no place in a storyline. when i first started getting into writing scripts, the main thing i learned was avoid unresolved anticipation.

at this point i don't give a dead ravoli who killed the rats at the fence to start the season.
i don't give a damn who killed who at the prison.
and how long has it been since glen went search of maggie?

and in no way shape form or fashion was beth driving the caddy away from daryl. that was just stupid. i have no way of knowing, for sure, if the gang daryl found was the one rick killed a few members of cause they're simply taking too long to tell the story.

my "unresolved anticipation" is growing faster than they can fill.

who built the morgue? who set up the well placed food? who built this city on rock and roll....

doesn't matter now does it?

the series seems to be in a tailspin of apathy to me at this point.

and now a 2nd group of new people is introduced w/o addressing the last group.

writing has kinda gone to hell.

I definitely agree with you here.

Writing is all over the place.

Somebody left (not sure who) and left a huge void when they did.

The new group is the same group from the house Rick was at last week. The guy Darryl Punched is the same guy that was on the porch with Rick under him as Carl and Michonne walked up.
